How my family influenced me.

663 words | 3 page(s)

My family has had a strong influence on shaping me into the person that I am now, and has taught me that love, kindness, respect, and honesty are all important qualities. However, education has also been a strong factor in shaping me, and helping me grow as an individual. School has strengthened my social skills, and built my base in academic skills.

My family was my first source of love, and has shaped me into who I am today. Growing up my father has regularly gone out of his way to make sure that I feel special and valued, which may seem simple or frivolous, but it is extremely important to me. He can be a strict disciplinarian, and teach myself and my siblings lessons through daily occurrences, or he can be understanding and almost philosophical, teaching us the ways of the broader universe, and making us understand that we are only a small part of this world.

I have been inspired to treat others with friendly manners and to try to help everyone that I can through my daily actions. It seems that my father has had the most important role of my shaping, and through watching him my entire life I have grown an understanding that by helping other people and trying to have positive effect on everyone, leads to a happy life with no few enemies. One of the basic reasons I respect my father, is that he is happy, when he makes other people’s days just a little better.

What has helped build my character is my father’s Trust. Because he has shown me throughout my life how much he trusts me, he has managed to persuade me to always do what is right so that I do not lose his trust. He has prepared me for life. His is open mind has helped to form my own personality and intellect into a more open minded type. He has never told me what to do. He explains how he feels and then lets me make my own decisions.

The importance of an education has also been stressed all of my life. My schooling has revealed the importance of a sampling of societal behaviors and interactions. This has shaped me by showing me examples of appropriate behavior in interpersonal relationships, and strengthened how much I value some of my behaviors. I believe that social interactions show how others view myself as an individual, and allow me a look into another person’s behaviors and morals. These momentary glances into other’s beliefs creates and understanding of myself and my beliefs in relationship to the world that I live in. Every social interaction that I take part in whether it be buying a cup of coffee in the mall, or an in depth discussion with a close friend, has an impact on my character. My education has helped to mold me, but my home life built my foundation as an individual.

My parents have also always acknowledged the importance of my education in teaching me independence, and how to take responsibility for my actions. I have been allowed the room to make mistakes, and more importantly, the space to fix any mistakes that I may make. This is also true about my education. I have been allowed to thrive in classrooms, or if I chose to falter, but regardless, it is my responsibility to fix my mistakes. This faith in my own ability has allowed me to develop a high level of motivation for my studies, and healthy study habits.

While education is an endeavor that will better my life and contribute to my happiness, I want to be able to use my knowledge to help others, and contribute to the wellbeing of other people. I have my family to thank for my motivation to better the world through my life, and I have my education to thank for giving me the understanding and skills to make it happen.

My family, my inspiration, the reasons each of my family members has inspired me or taught me something important in my life..

My Family, My Inspiration

Who and why my family inspires me…

Inspiration to me is when a person gives me enough motives to do or feel something creative or beneficial to others or myself. Each person in my life is very important as to why I am the person I am today. They all have different characteristics of inspiration that they have given me. My first thoughts of my family are always why they mean so much to me. I couldn’t imagine my life without anyone of my family members.

Here are the reasons each person has given me some inspiration.

My mom is my one of two of the biggest inspirations in my entire life. She has taught me the most important thing that I follow every day. She has taught me to always be strong. Being strong relates in many ways. Physically and mentally, I tell myself every day that if I was as strong as my mom, I could do anything I set my mind to.

My Younger Brother.

I’ve never imagined the day that my younger brother would ever teach me something useful that I could use every day of my life, but the day has come where he has done just that. He has taught me that no matter how old him and I may grow, we will still always still be our childish-self. He brings out the little kid in me and he makes me feel like nothing else in the world matters.

Every girl can agree with me on this one. My father brings out the “worker bee” in me. I feel like I am a great worker because of him. He has taught me to work hard for what I have and be proud and blessed to have the things and people that I have in my life. If I’m not happy where I am his famous words for me are always, “do something to fix it and just keep working towards what you want”.

My Stepfather/Stepmother.

The best thing about having a stepparent is the amount of love they give you even when they aren’t your own. Both of my stepparents show me that no matter who you are as a person, everyone deserves to be loved and shown affection.

My Older Brother.

Sometimes I catch myself from acting like a completely odd person because I can’t help but laugh at myself. I get the quirkiness and weird personality from my older brother. His goofy personality rubs off on me and it has taught me that not always do you need to be an adult. There is a time and place to have a little fun and act like a fool.

My 7-year-old nephew is the biggest reason for my smile. Although he may not have taught me anything, he still shows me a reason to smile every day of my life. He has the kind of personality where he can know your exact mood without even speaking a word to you. The way he would response is the miracle in him. He either tries to make you smile or his arms spreads wide for a loving hug, and either way you’re winning because that little boy would do anything to make someone smile.

My sister-in-law.

Everyone needs a person in their life that shows them how to relax and enjoy life as it comes; well my sister-in-law does just that. She has taught me to take a step back and just enjoy it all. Life seems to be less hectic when you take everything step by step. The only reason I don’t stress as much is because of her.

All My Grandmothers.

Each one of my grandmothers knew what the major key points to growing up as a girl in her twenties and that’s how to have poise and act like a lady when needed. Every woman figure in my life has helped with this but mostly my grandmothers started this lesson in my life. They have all taught me that it’s easier to catch flies with honey than it is to catch them with vinegar so to speak. What I mean is that it’s much easier to get farther in life when you do it the right and respectful way instead of putting half the effort into it.

My Best Friends.

I have many friends in my life but I have two friends that I have had since I was about four years old. Both of my two friends are always there for me. They have showed me what it’s like to have and be a true friend. I can count on them for anything, and in return I would do the same for them. “There is nothing on this Earth more to be prized than true friendship.” – Thomas Aquinas

When life had you at your worst moments, you allowed your friends to be there for you and to help you. You let them in and they helped pick you up. Even in your darkest hour you showed so much strength. I know that you don't believe in yourself as much as you should but you are unbelievably strong and capable of anything you set your mind to.

Your passion to make a difference in the world is unbelievable. You put your heart and soul into your endeavors and surpass any personal goal you could have set. Watching you do what you love and watching you make a difference in the lives of others is an incredible experience. The way your face lights up when you finally realize what you have accomplished is breathtaking and I hope that one day I can have just as much passion you have.

Waitlisted for a College Class? Here's What to Do!

Dealing with the inevitable realities of college life..

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Don't freak out

This is a rule you should continue to follow no matter what you do in life, but is especially helpful in this situation.

Email the professor

Around this time, professors are getting flooded with requests from students wanting to get into full classes. This doesn't mean you shouldn't burden them with your email; it means they are expecting interested students to email them. Send a short, concise message telling them that you are interested in the class and ask if there would be any chance for you to get in.

Attend the first class

Often, the advice professors will give you when they reply to your email is to attend the first class. The first class isn't the most important class in terms of what will be taught. However, attending the first class means you are serious about taking the course and aren't going to give up on it.

Keep attending class

Every student is in the same position as you are. They registered for more classes than they want to take and are "shopping." For the first couple of weeks, you can drop or add classes as you please, which means that classes that were once full will have spaces. If you keep attending class and keep up with assignments, odds are that you will have priority. Professors give preference to people who need the class for a major and then from higher to lower class year (senior to freshman).

Have a backup plan

For two weeks, or until I find out whether I get into my waitlisted class, I will be attending more than the usual number of classes. This is so that if I don't get into my waitlisted class, I won't have a credit shortage and I won't have to fall back in my backup class. Chances are that enough people will drop the class, especially if it is very difficult like computer science, and you will have a chance. In popular classes like art and psychology, odds are you probably won't get in, so prepare for that.

Remember that everything works out at the end

Life is full of surprises. So what if you didn't get into the class you wanted? Your life obviously has something else in store for you. It's your job to make sure you make the best out of what you have.

Navigating the Talking Stage: 21 Essential Questions to Ask for Connection

It's mandatory to have these conversations..

Whether you met your new love interest online , through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

1. What do you do for a living?

What someone does for a living can tell a lot about who they are and what they're interested in! Their career reveals a lot more about them than just where they spend their time to make some money.

2. What's your favorite color?

OK, I get it, this seems like something you would ask a Kindergarten class, but I feel like it's always good to know someone's favorite color . You could always send them that Snapchat featuring you in that cute shirt you have that just so happens to be in their favorite color!

3. Do you have any siblings?

This one is actually super important because it's totally true that people grow up with different roles and responsibilities based on where they fall in the order. You can tell a lot about someone just based on this seemingly simple question.

4. What's your favorite television show?

OK, maybe this isn't a super important question, but you have to know ASAP if you can quote Michael Scott or not. If not, he probably isn't the one. Sorry, girl.

5. When is your birthday?

You can then proceed to do the thing that every girl does without admitting it and see how compatible your zodiacs are.

6. What's your biggest goal in life?

If you're like me, you have big goals that you want to reach someday, and you want a man behind you who also has big goals and understands what it's like to chase after a dream. If his biggest goal is to see how quickly he can binge-watch " Grey's Anatomy " on Netflix , you may want to move on.

7. If you had three wishes granted to you by a genie, what would they be?

This is a go-to for an insight into their personality. Based on how they answer, you can tell if they're goofy, serious, or somewhere in between.

8. What's your favorite childhood memory?

For some, this may be a hard question if it involves a family member or friend who has since passed away . For others, it may revolve around a tradition that no longer happens. The answers to this question are almost endless!

9. If you could change one thing about your life, what would it be?

We all have parts of our lives and stories that we wish we could change. It's human nature to make mistakes. This question is a little bit more personal but can really build up the trust level.

10. Are you a cat or a dog person?

I mean, duh! If you're a dog person, and he is a cat person, it's not going to work out.

11. Do you believe in a religion or any sort of spiritual power?

Personally, I am a Christian, and as a result, I want to be with someone who shares those same values. I know some people will argue that this question is too much in the talking stage , but why go beyond the talking stage if your personal values will never line up?

12. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Even homebodies have a must visit place on their bucket list !

13. What is your ideal date night?

Hey, if you're going to go for it... go for it!

14. Who was/is your celebrity crush?

For me, it was hands-down Nick Jonas . This is always a fun question to ask!

15. What's a good way to cheer you up if you're having a bad day?

Let's be real, if you put a label on it, you're not going to see your significant other at their best 24/7.

16. Do you have any tattoos?

This can lead to some really good conversations, especially if they have a tattoo that has a lot of meaning to them!

17. Can you describe yourself in three words?

It's always interesting to see if how the person you're talking to views their personal traits lines ups with the vibes you're getting.

18. What makes you the most nervous in life?

This question can go multiple different directions, and it could also be a launching pad for other conversations.

19. What's the best gift you have ever received?

Admittedly, I have asked this question to friends as well, but it's neat to see what people value.

20. What do you do to relax/have fun?

Work hard, play hard, right?

21. What are your priorities at this phase of your life?

This is always interesting because no matter how compatible your personalities may be, if one of you wants to be serious and the other is looking for something casual, it's just not going to work.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in challah bread or easter bread.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

A few weeks ago, I was given a loaf of bread called Challah (pronounced like holla), and upon my first bite, I realized it tasted just like Easter Bread. It was so delicious that I just had to make some of my own, which I did.

The recipe is as follows:

Ingredients

2 tsp active dry or instant yeast 1 cup lukewarm water 4 to 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 cup white granulated sugar 2 tsp salt 2 large eggs 1 large egg yolk (reserve the white for the egg wash) 1/4 cup neutral-flavored vegetable oil

Instructions

  • Combine yeast and a pinch of sugar in small bowl with the water and stir until you see a frothy layer across the top.
  • Whisk together 4 cups of the flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
  • Make a well in the center of the flour and add in eggs, egg yolk, and oil. Whisk these together to form a slurry, pulling in a little flour from the sides of the bowl.
  • Pour the yeast mixture over the egg slurry and mix until difficult to move.
  • Turn out the dough onto a floured work surface and knead by hand for about 10 minutes. If the dough seems very sticky, add flour a teaspoon at a time until it feels tacky, but no longer like bubblegum. The dough has finished kneading when it is soft, smooth, and holds a ball-shape.
  • Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and place somewhere warm. Let the dough rise 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
  • Separate the dough into four pieces. Roll each piece of dough into a long rope roughly 1-inch thick and 16 inches long.
  • Gather the ropes and squeeze them together at the very top. Braid the pieces in the pattern of over, under, and over again. Pinch the pieces together again at the bottom.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment and lift the loaf on top. Sprinkle the loaf with a little flour and drape it with a clean dishcloth. Place the pan somewhere warm and away from drafts and let it rise until puffed and pillowy, about an hour.
  • Heat the oven to 350°F. Whisk the reserved egg white with a tablespoon of water and brush it all over the challah. Be sure to get in the cracks and down the sides of the loaf.
  • Slide the challah on its baking sheet into the oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through cooking. The challah is done when it is deeply browned.

I kept wondering how these two breads could be so similar in taste. So I decided to look up a recipe for Easter Bread to make a comparison. The two are almost exactly the same! These recipes are similar because they come from religious backgrounds. The Jewish Challah bread is based on kosher dietary laws. The Christian Easter Bread comes from the Jewish tradition but was modified over time because they did not follow kosher dietary laws.

A recipe for Easter bread is as follows:

2 tsp active dry or instant yeast 2/3 cup milk 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1/4 cup white granulated sugar 2 tbs butter 2 large eggs 2 tbs melted butter 1 tsp salt

  • In a large bowl, combine 1 cup flour, sugar, salt, and yeast; stir well. Combine milk and butter in a small saucepan; heat until milk is warm and butter is softened but not melted.
  • Gradually add the milk and butter to the flour mixture; stirring constantly. Add two eggs and 1/2 cup flour; beat well. Add the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, stirring well after each addition. When the dough has pulled together, turn it out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes.
  • Lightly oil a large bowl, place the dough in the bowl and turn to coat with oil. Cover with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place until doubled in volume, about 1 hour.
  • Deflate the dough and turn it out onto a lightly floured surface. Divide the dough into two equal size rounds; cover and let rest for 10 minutes. Roll each round into a long roll about 36 inches long and 1 1/2 inches thick. Using the two long pieces of dough, form a loosely braided ring, leaving spaces for the five colored eggs. Seal the ends of the ring together and use your fingers to slide the eggs between the braids of dough.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place loaf on a buttered baking sheet and cover loosely with a damp towel. Place loaf in a warm place and let rise until doubled in bulk, about 45 minutes. Brush risen loaf with melted butter.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 30 minutes.

Both of these recipes are really easy to make. While you might need to have a day set aside for this activity, you can do things while the dough is rising or in the oven. After only a few hours, you have a delicious loaf of bread that you made from scratch, so the time and effort is really worth it!

Unlocking Lake People's Secrets: 15 Must-Knows!

There's no other place you'd rather be in the summer..

The people that spend their summers at the lake are a unique group of people.

Whether you grew up going to the lake , have only recently started going, or have only been once or twice, you know it takes a certain kind of person to be a lake person. To the long-time lake people, the lake holds a special place in your heart , no matter how dirty the water may look.

Every year when summer rolls back around, you can't wait to fire up the boat and get back out there. Here is a list of things you can probably identify with as a fellow lake-goer.

A bad day at the lake is still better than a good day not at the lake.

It's your place of escape, where you can leave everything else behind and just enjoy the beautiful summer day. No matter what kind of week you had, being able to come and relax without having to worry about anything else is the best therapy there is. After all, there's nothing better than a day of hanging out in the hot sun, telling old funny stories and listening to your favorite music.

You know the best beaches and coves to go to.

Whether you want to just hang out and float or go walk around on a beach, you know the best spots. These often have to be based on the people you're with, given that some "party coves" can get a little too crazy for little kids on board. I still have vivid memories from when I was six that scared me when I saw the things drunk girls would do for beads.

You have no patience for the guy who can't back his trailer into the water right.

When there's a long line of trucks waiting to dump their boats in the water, there's always that one clueless guy who can't get it right, and takes 5 attempts and holds up the line. No one likes that guy. One time my dad got so fed up with a guy who was taking too long that he actually got out of the car and asked this guy if he could just do it for him. So he got into the guy's car, threw it in reverse, and got it backed in on the first try. True story.

Doing the friendly wave to every boat you pass.

Similar to the "jeep wave," almost everyone waves to other boats passing by. It's just what you do, and is seen as a normal thing by everyone.

The cooler is always packed, mostly with beer.

Alcohol seems to be a big part of the lake experience, but other drinks are squeezed into the room remaining in the cooler for the kids, not to mention the wide assortment of chips and other foods in the snack bag.

Giving the idiot who goes 30 in a "No Wake Zone" a piece of your mind.

There's nothing worse than floating in the water, all settled in and minding your business, when some idiot barrels through. Now your anchor is loose, and you're left jostled by the waves when it was nice and perfectly still before. This annoyance is typically answered by someone yelling some choice words to them that are probably accompanied by a middle finger in the air.

You have no problem with peeing in the water.

It's the lake, and some social expectations are a little different here, if not lowered quite a bit. When you have to go, you just go, and it's no big deal to anyone because they do it too.

You know the frustration of getting your anchor stuck.

The number of anchors you go through as a boat owner is likely a number that can be counted on two hands. Every once in a while, it gets stuck on something on the bottom of the lake, and the only way to fix the problem is to cut the rope, and you have to replace it.

Watching in awe at the bigger, better boats that pass by.

If you're the typical lake-goer, you likely might have an average-sized boat that you're perfectly happy with. However, that doesn't mean you don't stop and stare at the fast boats that loudly speed by, or at the obnoxiously huge yachts that pass.

Knowing any swimsuit that you own with white in it is best left for the pool or the ocean.

You've learned this the hard way, coming back from a day in the water and seeing the flowers on your bathing suit that were once white, are now a nice brownish hue.

The momentary fear for your life as you get launched from the tube.

If the driver knows how to give you a good ride, or just wants to specifically throw you off, you know you're done when you're speeding up and heading straight for a big wave. Suddenly you're airborne, knowing you're about to completely wipe out, and you eat pure wake. Then you get back on and do it all again.

You're able to go to the restaurants by the water wearing minimal clothing.

One of the many nice things about the life at the lake is that everybody cares about everything a little less. Rolling up to the place wearing only your swimsuit, a cover-up, and flip flops, you fit right in. After a long day when you're sunburned, a little buzzed, and hungry, you're served without any hesitation.

Having unexpected problems with your boat.

Every once in a while you're hit with technical difficulties, no matter what type of watercraft you have. This is one of the most annoying setbacks when you're looking forward to just having a carefree day on the water, but it's bound to happen. This is just one of the joys that come along with being a boat owner.

Having a name for your boat unique to you and your life.

One of the many interesting things that make up the lake culture is the fact that many people name their boats. They can range from basic to funny, but they are unique to each and every owner, and often have interesting and clever meanings behind them.

There's no better place you'd rather be in the summer.

Summer is your all-time favorite season, mostly because it's spent at the lake. Whether you're floating in the cool water under the sun, or taking a boat ride as the sun sets, you don't have a care in the world at that moment . The people that don't understand have probably never experienced it, but it's what keeps you coming back every year.

We are a close-knit unit who always prioritize spending time with each other, no matter how busy our individual lives may be. Whenever we face any challenges or hurdles, we come together as a team to overcome them. This has taught me the importance of unity and teamwork within a family.

Moreover, my family has always encouraged and supported me in pursuing my dreams and passions. They have been my biggest cheerleaders, pushing me to work hard and achieve my goals. Whether it was through financial support or moral encouragement, they have always gone above and beyond to help me succeed.

I am also grateful for the values and beliefs instilled in me by my family. They have taught me the importance of honesty, hard work, and compassion towards others. These values have guided me in all aspects of my life and have helped shape my character.

Lastly, my family has given me an abundance of love and affection. I always feel loved and appreciated by them, which has boosted my self-esteem and confidence. They have also taught me the value of unconditional love and support, no matter what mistakes or failures I may face.

My Family Background Essay:

Growing up, I always felt a strong sense of belonging and love within my family. We were a close-knit unit, constantly supporting and caring for each other. Even though we faced our fair share of challenges, I am grateful for the way my parents raised me and the values they instilled in me.

My family is from a small town in India, where my grandparents still live. I have fond memories of spending summers there, playing with my cousins and enjoying the simplicity of life in the countryside. My parents moved to the United States before I was born, seeking better opportunities for our family. They worked hard and sacrificed a lot to give us a better life, and I am forever grateful for their determination and resilience.

One of the most valuable lessons I learned from my family is the importance of education. My parents always emphasized the value of knowledge and pushed me to excel in my studies. They believed that education was the key to success and encouraged me to pursue my passions and dreams. Today, as a college student, I am proud to say that I have followed their advice and am pursuing a degree in a field that I am passionate about.

Another important aspect of my family background is our cultural heritage. Growing up in a household with Indian traditions and customs has shaped me into the person I am today. I have a deep appreciation for my culture and its rich history, and I strive to keep it alive through practicing our customs and celebrating festivals with my family.

In conclusion, my family background has played a significant role in shaping my values, beliefs, and identity. I am grateful for the love and support of my family and the lessons they have taught me. They have instilled in me the importance of hard work, education, and cultural heritage, which will stay with me throughout my life.

Family Tree Essay:

Family is an integral part of our lives and plays a crucial role in shaping who we are as individuals. It is the foundation of our identity, values, and beliefs. Every family has its unique story, and today, I would like to share mine by writing about my family tree.

My family tree has deep roots, and it all began with my great grandparents. They were born in a small village in the countryside, where my ancestors lived for generations. My great grandfather was a farmer, and my great grandmother took care of their home and children.

Together they had six children, including my grandfather. They were a close-knit family, and I often hear stories of how they would spend quality time together, playing games and sharing meals.

My grandfather was the eldest among his siblings, and he inherited the farm from his father. He got married to my grandmother, who came from a different village but shared the same values as our family. Together they had four children – two daughters and two sons, one of whom is my father. My grandparents instilled in their children the importance of hard work, honesty, and respect for others. They also valued education and ensured that all their children received a good education. My grandfather passed away when I was young, but I have fond memories of him and the lessons he taught me.

My father is the second eldest among his siblings and grew up on the farm with his brothers and sisters. He continued to run the farm after my grandfather’s passing, and my mother joined him after their marriage. They are loving parents who have always supported me in pursuing my dreams. They have also taught me the importance of family, and to always be there for each other through thick and thin.

I am the eldest among my siblings, and I have a younger brother and sister. We were fortunate to grow up in a loving household with our parents and grandparents. Our family gatherings are always filled with laughter, stories, and delicious food. My parents have instilled in us the same values that they learned from their parents, and we continue to pass them on to future generations.

In conclusion, my family tree is a testament to the strong bond and love that runs through our bloodline. Each generation has passed down valuable lessons and traditions, which have shaped us into who we are today. I am proud of my family’s history and grateful for the support and love that they have given me throughout my life. I hope to continue this legacy by passing on these values to my children and future generations in my family tree.

As they say, “family is not an important thing, it’s everything.” So, cherish your family and never forget where you came from because your roots will always be a part of you. Our families are our greatest treasures, and we should always hold them close to our hearts.

Middle Class Family Essay:

The middle class is often considered the backbone of a society. They are not rich, but they do not struggle to make ends meet either. They have enough to live comfortably and provide their families with basic necessities and some luxuries as well. Coming from such a family, I can say that being a part of the middle class has its own set of challenges and opportunities.

One of the biggest challenges faced by middle-class families is the constant battle to maintain their social and economic status. While they may not be as wealthy as the upper class, they are also not struggling to make ends meet like those in poverty. This puts them in a unique position where they have to balance their financial stability with societal expectations.

They want to provide for their families and give them a good life but at the same time, they do not want to be seen as extravagant or wasteful. This constant balancing act can be mentally and emotionally draining for many people.

Another challenge faced by middle-class families is the rising cost of living. As inflation continues to rise, it becomes harder for them to maintain their standard of living without sacrificing certain things. This often means making tough financial decisions and cutting back on some luxuries they were able to afford before. It also puts pressure on parents to work longer hours or take on multiple jobs in order to keep up with expenses.

Despite these challenges, being a part of the middle class also comes with its own opportunities. Middle-class families have access to quality education and healthcare, which can provide their children with a better future. They also have the opportunity to save for retirement or invest in their children’s education. This stability and security allows them to plan for the future and work towards achieving their goals.

In conclusion, the middle class is an important segment of society that faces its own unique challenges and opportunities. As a member of this class, I have learned to appreciate the value of hard work, perseverance, and smart financial planning. It may not always be easy, but being part of the middle class has taught me to be resilient and to never give up on my dreams.

My Father Inspires Me Essay Example

If someone were to ask me which family member inspires me the most, it would have to be my father. My father has taught me many lessons in life ever since I was young, but the one that stood above them all was the subject of education. He always told me that if I wanted to be successful, I would have to go to college to make something out of myself. My family is not wealthy. Therefore, my father saved up every single penny he earned from work to buy anything that I needed to succeed. He always encouraged me and still encourages me to go to school, because he knows that the value of education will determine a successful future for me. As a result, I admire him with all my heart. My father has a significant impact on who I am today. He has influenced my life by showing me right from wrong and teaching me valuable lessons that will benefit me overall as a person.

Growing up, my father never lived in a wealthy household or received things he wanted. He was born in a country that was extremely poor and had almost nothing to offer him. My father's education ended in the 5th grade as my grandparents had no money to fund it. They barely had money to buy groceries, let alone an education for him. My father had to learn about the hardships of work at the age of 8 to help his parents purchase food and clothes for their children. Even with all his hard-worked earnings, he would rather give it to his family than to spend it on himself. He still does that today with the family he has created with my mother, including me, my sister, and my brother. This man has always been a hard worker who genuinely cares about others. My father has 8 siblings that he took care of and cooked for when my grandparents could not. Every day since he was 8 years old my father has had a busy schedule. Starting his day at 6 in the morning, he would feed the cows, take care of his siblings, and work with his father the entire day. By 8 at night, he would finally get home and get some rest. By the sound of that, my father seems like he never took a day off even though he very much deserved it.

With all that challenging work must come a reward. That reward for my father came at the age of 18 when he arrived in the United States. Because his dream is to have a family and enjoy his life in the United States of America. However, the very first day he stepped into the United States, he had to start work right away. He would work for long hours just to be paid a little. As soon as me and my siblings were old enough to understand, he told us that he would pay for all our necessities just to go to college and be somebody. I am trying my hardest to not only pass my classes and graduate college, but to be a good person at heart. My father has bought everything I have needed or wanted, such as clothes, shoes, college textbooks, and even my first car. He refuses to let my family work, including my mother. He told us that we needed to focus on our education and career goals. For my mother, he said it was best for her to stay home and take care of us, and that he would provide everything else. Some people disagree with how my father uses his earnings to “spoil” me and my siblings by giving everything they want. My father's response was that he grew up with nothing, and he never wanted us to feel the way he did when he was a child and growing up with nothing in his hands. He wanted to give his children everything that they needed and wanted, however, humbling them at the same time.

In conclusion, my father inspires me the most in life. He grew up in a poor family that had little to give. He experienced the true difficulties of hard labor work at an early age and has done nothing but give back to his loved ones. Today, my father has everything he has ever wanted in life: a loving family that cares for him, his own construction company, along with many other things. I hope to be somebody in life one day and make him proud. I want to become as great as my father is and carry on with his teachings when I have a family of my own. I also want to pay back everything he has done for my family; they deserve more than life itself. This will forever be a special goal of mine.

What My Sister Taught Me About Sustained Inspiration

I can still remember how excited I felt every night as I roller-bladed down Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn, NY, awaiting her arrival. Even though she never made a lot of money, all she made, she spent on me. She would buy me t-shirts from the Gap, and they made me so happy.

“How does she do it?” I wondered. With what appeared to be superhero strength and grace, she managed to strut in 5-inch heels like it was no big deal, and even when she became pregnant with her first daughter Felice, she kept the heels on till late into her pregnancy. To me, she was the real-life embodiment of Wonder Woman.  And all these years later, I still see her as Wonder Woman, though it no longer has to do with t-shirts from the Gap or 5-inch heels.

My sister is my inspiration for this piece about sustained inspiration. Observing her and the choices she has made throughout the years, and especially within the last 6 months, I am inspired to share the three most important things I believe we can all do, to not only get inspired but to stay inspired.

1. Know your priorities and stick to them

2. Remember who you’re doing “it” for

3. Find your joyful routine, and stick to it

As my sister became a mom, her whole life seemed to revolve around the family that she and her husband were building. At times, this was difficult for me to relate to since I was in such a different stage of life. Unmarried and without children, I could not understand how it was that her whole universe seemed to revolve around her kids. We each had distinct perspectives and experiences, and yet despite our differences, I could sense that we both felt a sense of joy.

I became increasingly curious about how it was that different people could find joy and inspiration through unique life experiences . As I explored countries, careers, and hobbies, my sister Stella explored the world of motherhood and family. And while I found it difficult to relate to her, I believed that in time, our differences in personality and life experience would be the catalyst that would ignite some sort of deeper understanding and teach me a greater lesson. I’m very grateful to say that this year, my hypothesis turned out to be true.

After the birth of her third child, my sister decided to do something wildly uncharacteristic of her - she put herself first. After gaining almost 60 pounds throughout her third pregnancy, she decided to get healthy, and within the last six months, not only has she lost almost 80 pounds but she’s proved to me and everyone else [most importantly - to herself] that with dedication and commitment to a healthy routine, anything is possible. I have watched her transform, and not just physically but energetically, into the girl I remember strutting down the streets of Brooklyn in 5-inch heels.

When I asked her what her inspiration was for getting into the healthiest shape of her life, she said, “ my inspiration was to get healthy for my family and to prove to myself that I can do it.”

My older sister has taught me one of the greatest lessons of my life: that when you put yourself first and take care of your body and your mind, you end up helping, supporting, and inspiring those closest to you. Even when putting herself first, her ultimate inspiration was centered around her family, and for this, we are all beyond grateful. Watching her transform and work on herself has inspired everyone around her to do the same thing, and like a ripple effect, I have watched everyone in my family and those close to us gain strength, joy, and inspiration.

stella

My sister reminded me to focus on my priorities and flow with them as they change throughout the years, months, and days. She has also inspired me to remember who I am doing it all for, and when I say “it,” I mean everything. I constantly take time to reflect upon why I am doing what I am doing, and this grounds me in moments of fear or confusion and lifts me up higher when I’m already wildly inspired.  Most importantly - she has reminded me to find my own joyful routine and stick to it.

I do not know two more different people than my sister and I. And even though we look different, act different, and live completely different lives, the three main things that I feel kept her grounded throughout this intense period of transition are the same things that keep propelling me forward and adding to my state of ever-flowing inspiration.  Remember - it’s not about finding inspiration; it’s about sustaining it and living it daily that creates true joy.

I hope you’re inspired to take time and reflect upon why and for whom you’re doing whatever it is you’re doing. Figure out your priorities and then be open to them changing as you find your joyful routine and stick to it. And remember that self-love and care is actually the least selfish thing you can practice because when you take care of yourself, you take better care of everyone around you, and what’s more selfless than that?  I know that I am in the healthiest shape of my life because I have practiced these three suggestions, and I believe that you can be too, and this is why I share this personal story with you. This one goes out to my sister, my teacher, and my mentor - my inspiration.

“My mother is my role model, she inspires and motivates me to grow without any barriers”

Children with disabilities, global youth ambassadors, diksha dinde, diksha dinde, a 23-year-old student and activist from india, tells how her mother is her role model and the reason she was able to get an education and fulfil her potential..

Super humans. We read about them, watch them and admire them in the virtual world – but I live with a superhuman. She is my mother.

I am Diksha Dinde, a 23-year-old student and activist from India. I am 84% differently abled, trying to break the stereotypes related to disabled people.

Be it teaching underprivileged children from the slums near where I live or raising awareness to break taboos around menstruation, I have been doing my part to make this world a better place to live.

My mother, Mrs Chitrarekha Dinde, is my role model. She inspires and motivates me to grow without any barriers. It seems to me that this woman looks at life as a challenge and wholeheartedly intends to seize the day every day.     My mother looked after me and supported me in every part of my life. Right from childhood she has been with me like my shadow. It had been riddled with hurdles and difficulties, but she has managed to cross them all to because of the amazing and independent person she is.

Being physically challenged I am not able to move by myself and because of this I have not been able to do daily routine activities since childhood. At the beginning this was a hardship for my mother, but she was determined to make it work.

She not only helped me whenever I needed but she also taught me to help myself. She taught me to keep myself clean and neat, how to eat and how to know how much to eat.  She says, “a child does not learn from what parents say but from what parents do”.

I have had three operations and various therapies on my spine but none have been successful. I was rejected from schools because of their lack of infrastructure and facilities. I was finally admitted to one school.

My mother had to be there with me the whole day, but at the same time she also had to handle our home life. So she started tailoring and working during school hours. That is how she was able to satisfy financial needs in the home.

Now I’ve graduated in Business Administration and I’m pursuing a Masters.

Whenever I look at my mother I see an ordinary person but when I think about what she does and how she does it she becomes divine and the reason of my smile!

The experience of my life so far has truly brought things into perspective. My mother has taught me that hard times can be overcome and that losing battles can be won. She has taught me more than I could have learnt from any book.

She sets an inspirational example to me teaching me how to live life and make wise choices, even in the most uncertain situations.

I respect her a lot. She is my inspiration, my role model.

How My Inspiration in Life is My Family

My family is my biggest inspiration in life. From the moment I was born, my parents and siblings have been a pillar of support for me. They have encouraged me to always aim high in everything that I do, and their love and guidance has been instrumental in helping me become the person I am today. Family values such as loyalty, trust, and respect have been instilled in me early on and these values continue to be a source of inspiration as I navigate life.

My Family: A Constant Source of Inspiration

My family is my greatest source of inspiration. They are the people I can turn to in any situation, whether it’s a celebration or a time of challenge. They have been there for me throughout my life and I am so grateful for their support.

From an early age, both my parents taught me the importance of hard work and determination. They both encouraged me to pursue my dreams and never give up, no matter what obstacles I encountered. My parents also taught me the importance of family values and traditions, which have been instrumental in helping me become the person I am today.

My siblings have also been a great source of inspiration for me. Growing up in a large family, we had to learn how to work together and support each other. My siblings have always been my strongest supporters, cheering me on when I achieved successes and providing comfort during difficult times.

As I’ve grown older, my extended family has also become an important source of inspiration for me. They have taught me the importance of tradition and how to handle life’s more difficult moments. My extended family has also helped me understand different cultures and appreciate our shared values.

My family is my constant source of inspiration. They have supported me throughout my life, teaching me valuable lessons about determination, hard work, and the importance of family values. I am so grateful for their unwavering support and love. They are the foundation of my life and I hope to one day emulate their example.

How Spending Time with My Family has Motivated Me to Succeed

Growing up in a close family has provided me with more than just love and support; it has motivated me to succeed. My parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts and uncles have all played an integral role in helping me become the person I am today. Throughout my life, I have seen how spending time with my family has encouraged and inspired me to work hard, chase my dreams and reach my goals.

One of the main ways that spending time with my family has motivated me is by setting a great example for me. My parents have always been incredibly hard-working and driven, which has made them successful in their own careers. Watching them achieve their goals has taught me that anything is possible if you work hard and never give up. It has motivated me to pursue my passions and strive for success in whatever I do. Similarly, my siblings have always been academically motivated, which has inspired me to do well in school and achieve the best grades I can.

Moreover, my family has provided me with invaluable advice and guidance which has helped me make the right decisions in life. From helping me choose a college to providing career counseling, their support and knowledge has been invaluable. They have also encouraged me to challenge myself and take risks in order to reach my full potential.

Finally, spending time with my family allows us to celebrate our successes together. From birthdays to graduations, they have always been there to cheer me on and motivate me to keep going. It makes all of my accomplishments even more special knowing that I can share them with the people who mean the most to me.

The Power of Love: A Reflection on the Impact of my Family's Support

Family is the source of our most precious memories – both happy and sad. From an early age, my family has been a consistent source of love and support throughout every stage of my life. Nothing has ever felt more constant than their presence in my life, and I'm lucky to have such an incredible network of people who have always had my back.

When I look back on the experiences that have shaped me, I am filled with immense gratitude for my family's influence. They are the ultimate source of guidance, wisdom, and motivation in my life. My parents have provided me with invaluable lessons about hard work, determination, and resilience – essential components for success. Their unwavering support has encouraged me to strive for greatness and stay ambitious in the pursuit of my dreams.

My siblings have also been an integral part of my development. Growing up with them has allowed me to learn invaluable lessons of cooperation, teamwork, and friendship. Although we often had different interests, I was able to bond with them through our shared love of music and sports. I am grateful for their companionship throughout my formative years.

The love of my family has always been a constant in my life, no matter the circumstance. Through thick and thin, they have stood by me with unconditional support and understanding. I could not be more thankful for the people who are closest to me – I truly owe my success to them. Their unshakeable faith in me has been instrumental in achieving the goals that I have set for myself.

The power of love is a force that can make us feel invincible and courageous. It has helped me move forward during difficult times and continues to provide me with strength when I need it most.

How My Family Has Given Me the Courage to Aim High

Growing up, I had the privilege of being surrounded by a close-knit and loving family. Not only did my parents show me unconditional love, but they also provided me with an environment in which I was encouraged to follow my dreams. From a young age, my family instilled within me the courage to aim high and strive for excellence despite any obstacles I may face.

My parents encouraged me to take risks and be daring in my pursuits, emphasizing that failure was an inevitable part of life and growth – something that should not be feared but embraced instead. They taught me the power of hard work by example and showed me how dedication could help turn dreams into reality. Their support allowed me to feel secure and confident, enabling me to take on greater challenges.

My siblings were also a source of inspiration. I was constantly witnessing their success as they worked diligently towards their goals, and it was inspiring to see them reach for the stars with such conviction. They reminded me that anything is possible when you step out of your comfort zone and take risks.

The extended members of my family also played a role in aiding my development. They provided me with advice on how to best pursue my ambitions and reminded me that anything worth achieving will require hard work and dedication. On those occasions when I felt like giving up, their words of encouragement gave me the strength to keep going.

Appreciating What I Have: A Reflection on the Value of my Family’s Encouragement

My family has always been my biggest source of inspiration and encouragement. Growing up, my parents were incredibly supportive and understanding. Whenever I faced a challenge or felt overwhelmed, they were there to listen, provide sound advice, and offer reassurance that I could get through it. As an adult, their words still ring in my ears: “Your decisions are your own. We may not always agree, but we’ll stand beside you no matter what choices you make.”

I am also incredibly grateful for the support my siblings have provided over the years. As I transitioned from childhood into adulthood, they were there to give me advice and perspective on life’s tough decisions. They knew me well, so their insights were invaluable, as were their words of affirmation and reminders that I was capable of making the right choices.

At times when I felt like giving up, my family’s never-ending faith in me kept me going. No matter how difficult a situation became or how low my morale sunk, they never wavered in their belief that I could achieve my goals. Their unwavering support and unconditional love have been the source of immeasurable strength for me over the years.

Writing this reflection has made me realize how fortunate I am to have such a strong family unit in my life. It is easy to become focused on what I don’t have, but it is important to remember to be thankful for the things that do bring me joy. My family has always been one of those sources of joy, and I will continue to appreciate them not just now, but forever.

Words can never fully express my gratitude for the support and insight they have provided throughout my life. There is no greater blessing than having a family to love and support me, and I am truly privileged to have been blessed with such an amazing one. Appreciating what I have is not always easy, but it will be something that I strive for in the years ahead as I continue on this journey of self-discovery.

In conclusion, I cannot stress enough the importance of appreciating what you are fortunate to have in your life. It can be easy to forget about family and friends who have been there for us during our most difficult times, offering support, guidance, and understanding. By taking the time to reflect on the value they bring to our lives, we can be reminded of just how much they mean to us. Our families are a gift that we should cherish and never take for granted; may we always remember to show them our appreciation and gratitude for all that they have done. Thank you for taking the time to read my reflection on the importance of appreciating what I have. It has been a pleasure to share this message with you.

Family gives you the warmth and affection that you may not get anywhere else. I too am blessed with such a family. My family has always been my strength. My mother, father, sister and I complete my family.

My Mother

My mother is the strongest woman I have ever seen in my life. She is a super woman. She can manage everything at the same time so beautifully and confidently. She is a fine individual with poise and dignity. She is the pivot around whom our family revolves. She has raised us with important values in life. She explained to us the true essence of love and compassion. She also tells us the importance of spirituality. She has given utmost importance to our education. She coordinates with our teachers in school and helps us with our weaknesses. My mother is an amazing cook and takes care of what we like to eat. She’s  just not a housewife. She is an entrepreneur too. She owns a restaurant managing a staff of 30 boys. It is indeed not an easy job but she manages everything very efficiently. She is an inspiration to all of us. She is indispensable to our family.
