Jalandhar is formerly known as Prasthala. Later, it was renamed to Jullundur. It is the most important city during the Mahabharata period. The city is located on the Grand Trunk Road. It is the prime capital of Punjab. Jalandhar is the home to multinational companies and several business startups. It has seen a tremendous growth in the recent years. Jalandhar has immensely contributed to traditional folks and culture. It is one of the leading tourist attractions in India.

Imam Nasir Masjid, Tulsi Mandir, Wonderland Theme Park, Devi Talab Mandir, Shiv Mandir, Rangla Punjab Haveli, Pushpa Gujral Science City are some of the top tourist places in Jalandhar.

There is the number of attractions in Jalandhar of which Wonderland theme park is popular and just more than a usual park. Each of us has a favourite location where we can find fulfilment and happiness. I also have a favourite place where I enjoy spending the majority of my time. My house is where I like to be. I enjoy spending my time there. It has a lovely and tranquil environment. My house is in the centre of a city. I live with my mother, father, two brothers, and two sisters. We each have our room. There isn't a place more significant than my house, in my opinion. I enjoy being at home. It energises me and lifts my spirits. Whenever I'm at home, I enjoy myself.

My town is my entire world. I was raised there. I have a lot of lovely and endearing memories of it. I used to play there with my friends and cousins during my early years. My grandmother's house in my village has often been one of my favourite places to be. Everyone has always held a special place in their hearts for their grandmother's home. We spent numerous summers with our granny when we were younger. Her home appeared to stand out from the rest in some way that made it special.

Enjoyment time

I enjoy playing outside while picking fresh fruits from the trees and eating freshly prepared vegetables. Frequently, I help my grandmother sow seeds in the garden. There are several reasons why I value this place so highly. There is something incredibly unique about the house. I feel at ease and relaxed here.

Why I Love My Grandmother’s House

First of all, the atmosphere at my grandmother’s house is distinctly different. I am at peace here. There is no noise or pollution because it is in a village. Additionally, there are no traffic jams here. I always wake early so that I can go for a walk and take in some fresh air. My body and mind are both revitalised by the fresh air. My grandmother makes me a delicious breakfast. In the evening, my whole family gathers to share our life stories as our grandfather makes tea.

My grandparents' home also has a small garden with grass that is a vibrant green colour. In the garden, there are swings as well. There, we also like playing entertaining games with our relatives, including water fights. We frequently spend the evenings sitting on the roof, looking up at the stars.

Holidays At Grandmother’s House

Over the holidays, there is always a lot of laughing and playing games at grandma’s house. Uncle's loud, recognisable giggle may be heard for miles. My aunt never misses an opportunity to comment on his laughter. The living room of our grandmother's home is where she regularly can be seen sitting and gazing out the window, close to the front entrance. She sits at this location to read the newspaper daily and sip on her old-fashioned steaming black coffee.

She can lose hours watching the birds fly to the feeder next to the window in her living room. Most birds have names that our grandmother is familiar with and recognises. She never skips a chance to observe the squirrels. Everything blossoms, and there are fresh flowers everywhere throughout the summer. In our town, the natural beauty is at an all-time high, and it's impossible to keep your eyes off the stunning surroundings. A pond is located behind the house. My cousins and I go fishing in the pond.

The village's residents lead simple, healthy lives. People care for one another and are always available. They make a lot of effort to maintain the facility's cleanliness because they care about it. We always look forward to our summer vacation so we may visit Grandma and Grandpa. Anyone who has met them will attest to their humility. All of this adds up to why I love my grandparents house and why it is my favourite place.

Introduction.

For a person who has lived in over 3 cities and has traveled to a lot more, it would be really difficult to answer a question like “Which is your favorite city?” Simply for the reason that every city has a different setting and a different sort of importance to the person. While one place may be his favorite because of the people who live there; the other may be beautiful in its most natural sense. While one place may be ‘home’; the other may be a safe haven.  And yet among all these cities and locations, if thought about carefully enough, one can easily point out the city he/she likes best. And so when I was asked about my favorite city, my mind was filled with a whirlwind of places and the memories made in those cities. But in the end, there was the only place that I could finalize on, and that is Gwalior. Not my hometown, nor my current residence; and yet Gwalior is the one place that I can call Home. And for me my favorite place to be in is anywhere I’m comfortable in.

History of Gwalior

Gwalior is a small yet major city in the central state of Madhya Pradesh. Known for its history and the stories that unfolded, Gwalior has been ruled by a variety of rulers ranging from the Tomars to the Mughals. But during the independence era, this city was being ruled by the Scindias, who are still treated with respect and in a very royal fashion. The city hosts a series of forts and palaces, and the Gwalior fort has been described as a ‘pearl in the necklace of the castles of India’.

This city is a favorite of mine for a variety of reasons. Having spent a majority of my childhood there, whenever my heart craves for something that is comfortable and mine, Gwalior is the one place that I run off to. The forts and the palaces, and the stories that resound amidst their walls fill me with a comfort that no one else can provide. The environment of the city, the soft canopies on random roads and the sudden rainbows that grace those skies; somehow make living in a climate as extreme as that of Gwalior, worth it. I love the city because of the people there, the small town behavior of the citizens; where everyone knows everyone and one’s troubles is that of the other. The people here are so hospitable and warm that staying around them exudes another sort of feeling itself.

Probably a reason as to why I love the city so much is because of the past that I have associated with the city. Overly attached to my family, ever since my childhood, Gwalior was the one place that had all of my family and friends. Gwalior has and will always be the one place that has the memories of my past and is the one city that I can always fall back on.

I’m sure every city has got a story of its own. Every city attracts a huge number every day and they leave behind traces, some beautiful and some tragic. That’s where one could easily draw a comparison between life and a city. A city is no less than home and home is where we go on to build memories and leave behind a story. A story is what acts as the prestigious memoir every city you’ve ever lived in or visited has got to offer you. Despite the feeling of warmth or otherwise, every city has something in it that makes you feel home.
