Google CSSI Acceptance Rate: What You Need to Know

The Google Computer Science Summer Institute (CSSI) is a four-week program that offers an introduction to computer science for rising college freshmen. The program is designed to provide students with a foundation in computer science, programming fundamentals, and exposure to Google’s culture. With Google’s reputation as a leading tech company, it’s no surprise that the CSSI program is highly competitive.

One of the most commonly asked questions about the CSSI program is its acceptance rate. According to a post on Reddit, the acceptance rate for the program was 15% in 2018, with 300 students accepted out of 2,000 applicants. While this is just one data point and the acceptance rate may vary from year to year, it’s clear that the program is highly selective.

For students interested in applying to the CSSI program, it’s important to keep in mind that the program is geared towards current high school seniors in the US or Canada. Applicants should have a strong academic record, an interest in computer science, and a desire to learn from Google engineers. With the high level of competition for the program, it’s important to put together a strong application that showcases your passion for computer science and your potential as a future leader in the field.

Application Process

The application process for the Google CSSI program is a rigorous and competitive process that requires a high level of dedication and preparation. Students who are interested in applying for the program should be prepared to put in a lot of effort to ensure that their application stands out from the rest. The application process consists of three main components: the online challenge, essay questions, and transcript submission.

Online Challenge

The first step in the application process is the online challenge. The online challenge is designed to test a student’s programming skills and knowledge. The challenge consists of a series of coding problems that must be solved within a specific amount of time. Students who perform well on the online challenge will be invited to move on to the next stage of the application process.

Essay Questions

The second component of the application process is the essay questions. The essay questions are designed to give students an opportunity to showcase their personality, interests, and goals. The essay questions are an important part of the application process and should be taken seriously. Students should take the time to carefully craft their responses to the essay questions to ensure that they accurately reflect who they are as a person and why they are a good fit for the program.

The final component of the application process is the transcript submission. Students are required to submit their official transcripts as part of their application. The transcripts should include all of the student’s grades and academic achievements. Students should ensure that their transcripts are accurate and up-to-date before submitting them as part of their application.

In conclusion, the application process for the Google CSSI program is a competitive and rigorous process that requires a high level of dedication and preparation. Google CSSI 2020

Does anyone know when the Google CSSI 2020 application opens up? I tried contacting the people but didnā€™t hear anything back.

I would say between mid-January and early February.

Is this open for all highschoolers?

I think we just have to be patient, sure it will open up soon

Itā€™s live. Does anyone know if theyā€™re still accepting resumes with the application though? I dont see an option to submit it anywhere.

can you pls send me the link to apply? I canā€™t seem to find it ):

Hereā€™s the link. Good Luck! https://buildyourfuture.withgoogle.com/programs/computer-science-summer-institute/

I recently submitted my application and I forgot if they required a resume but if they did, it will be in the portal in which you sign up for The Google CSSI. That portal allows you to upload your essay answers and transcripts. So just keep clicking through the application and youā€™ll find it if they require it. Good Luck!

No, itā€™s only open to High School Seniors who are new to the programming world.

The Google CSSI 2020 program opens February 1st and closes February 28th. Good Luck!

Do they send a confirmation after submitting? Iā€™m not sure whether my application was properly submitted as the page reset back to a blank form after I submitted.

Does anyone know what the page after submitting said? I recall reading something about the Online Challenge, but nothing else.

Does anyone know if you are supposed to receive a confirmation email or really any email from Google after submitting the application?? Also if you go back to Google CSSI page, and click to apply for the program - what do you guys see? Does it say submitted or no?

Also, I saw in other threads regarding CSSI from 2019 that it says ā€œsubmittedā€ after the application is sent outā€¦ But Iā€™m confused as to where I find this status?

I emailed CSSI admissions with the same questions and in response they wrote to me that they do not send confirmation emails. If you were able to submit the application on time, then you are good.

Does anyone know if the application actually closes? Like if you check the website, you can still fill the application out. Thats weirdā€¦why is it like that?

Does anyone know anything about Googleā€™s Online Challenge? Is it a part of the application? And has anyone received an email with an invitation for it yet? On the application they stated that as soon as the deadline was over they would send out the emailā€¦

I did not hear anything from Google yet. There is no confirmation nor the online challenge sent to my email. I guess it is the same for everyone.

Is the online challenge a measure that they use for the application? (Higher scorers are better etc.)

Can someone post when the online challenge opens for them. This will be helpful for those waiting

hi, I just received my online challenge invitation via email. weā€™re supposed to do it on March 6-7th. good luck everyone.
