Clean India Green India Essay

  • 100 Words Essay On Clean India Green India

Clean India and Green India are national programmes aimed at improving the country. In 2014, a campaign called "Clean India" was started—Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan or the Clean India Movement were the other names for this campaign. The programme was launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi by cleaning the streets. With numerous people taking part, this campaign was the biggest one ever. Garbage poses a serious danger to a country's growth and it is also a major threat to success in the modern economy. Industrialization and commercialization have only served to aggravate this issue. Therefore, as responsible citizens of this country, it is our responsibility and duty to do everything to keep our environment clean and green.

Clean India Green India Essay

Our carbon footprint has significantly grown since the Industrial Revolution. Greenhouse gases include carbon dioxide and other exhaust gases from cars and factories. Ironically, life depends on the greenhouse effect, which is a natural occurrence. If this phenomena didn't exist, the earth would swiftly lose heat and freeze. However, if substantial amounts of these gases continue to exist, the greenhouse effect will be amplified.

This may lead to an increase in global average temperatures and the melting of the polar ice caps. As a result, both individuals and the ecosystem suffer from this. The ecology may become unbalanced and endangered animals may go extinct. It can also have negative effects on the climate, often leading to loss of life and property destruction.

It is our duty to keep our surroundings clean, especially any public areas like parks, tourist attractions and restrooms. We should refrain from dumping trash everywhere, whether on the ground or in public spaces. Dustbins should be used in their place to maintain such areas clean. The ideal method to develop this habit is to launch a cleaning campaign in our home, kitchen, living space, and community. It is imperative that we preserve the natural splendour and purity of our surroundings before it is too late.

Clean India Green India is a nationwide effort launched by the Indian government. Mahatma Gandhi, father of the nation, also had a vision for a clean India. People are what make up a nation. Therefore, it is essential to alter public perceptions of the fight against sanitation. Change ought to be implemented logically. Budgets and programmes that prioritise Panchayats and rural communities' sanitation needs should be sufficient. Every Indian citizen should have the vision of a Clean India, Green India. The mission is the ideal development movement for India since it promotes sustainable growth in the nation.

Benefits Of Clean India Green India Campaign

We are less prone to get sick if we maintain ourselves and our surroundings clean. The unclean atmosphere around us promotes diseases like malaria, dengue fever, and others. We must maintain a clean, healthy atmosphere if we want to reduce our risks of becoming ill.

Cleanliness is beneficial to the mind—stress and despair are decreased. It keeps us energised and inspired.

The campaign has lessened open defecation by building individual, group, and public restrooms.

There has been a transform from the unsanitary restrooms into flush restrooms.

A promotion of healthy sanitation habits through behavioural changes and connecting people to sanitation and public health programmes has taken place.

People are now utilising solid waste disposal, reuse, and recycling techniques.

What We Can Do

So, the following are some methods that we use to go green and go clean—

Plastic is one of the main causes of environmental degradation, so it is crucial that we stop using it and replace it with materials based on wood in our houses. To lessen the impact of plastic on the environment, we must also use jute or paper bags rather than plastic ones.

We can always recycle and reuse objects to cut down on waste and pollution in the environment. For example, worn-out and discarded items can be utilised as décor and other things in homes and workplaces.

We can help save trees by printing on both sides of the page, utilising hand dryers in place of paper towels, and using reusable goods instead of toilet paper and throwaway towels. Additionally, we need to grow trees and other plants around our homes to maximise the amount of greenery there is.

We must utilise dustbins effectively if we are to achieve cleanliness. We should dispose of our trash in dustbins rather than on the roads and streets.

Awareness-raising campaigns must be performed in order to achieve community cleanliness and greenery. We must inform the public of the advantages of cleanliness and nature.

Since the Swachh Bharat Mission was established, many Indians have given cleanliness considerable consideration. People started doing daily cleanups of their surroundings and proper rubbish disposal. Additionally, Green India addresses the issue of climate change. The government wants to minimise greenhouse gases, which are the cause of climate change and global warming, by encouraging the growth of trees. In addition, the Indian government changed its energy and economic policies to be more environmentally friendly.

Paragraph on Clean India 250 Words

India is a country with vast amounts of untapped potential. With nearly 1.3 billion people, it has the largest population in the world and is expected to reach over 2 billion by 2050. India also has one of the lowest rates of literacy, which means that there are still plenty of people who do not have access to quality education and health care. It is incumbent upon Indian citizens and businesses to work together to improve these conditions, starting with improving sanitation and hygiene. There are many organizations working towards this goal, but Clean India is one of the most visible and influential groups working on behalf of India’s poor population. Clean India is an initiative started by the Indian government in 2002 to make India a clean and green country. The program is designed to rid India of open defecation, which is defined as human waste that is openly deposited in any place where people can see or smell it. In addition to cleaning up public spaces, the Clean India campaign aims to promote environmentally-friendly methods of transportation, such as using public transport instead of cars, and increasing recycling rates. For millions of Indians, cleanliness is a way of life. Not only are households required to keep their homes spick and span, but they must also adhere to strict rules when it comes to food preparation and hygiene. In many ways, the drive for cleanliness is inextricably linked with India’s rich cultural heritage. This Paragraph explores the history and significance of cleanliness in Indian culture, as well as some of the challenges that face society as it strives towards greater hygiene standards.

Paragraph on Clean India 300 Words

In 2015, India was ranked as the most polluted country in the world by the World Health Organization. Pollution is a major contributor to India’s high rates of chronic ill health such as heart disease, stroke, and respiratory problems. To address this issue, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has launched several initiatives called “Clean India.” These initiatives include ambitious plans to increase renewable energy supplies and reduce pollution from cars and industrial plants. If these goals are successful, it will not only improve Indian citizens’ health but also have significant environmental benefits. Clean India is an ambitious campaign that aims to make the country free of open defecation by 2019. The program has already achieved success in various parts of the country, and with continued effort it can be extended nationwide. This would have a huge impact on public health as well as the environment, as open defecation leads to widespread pollution and contributes significantly to climate change. If you’re interested in supporting Clean India, please consider donating your time or money to help make this vision a reality.

The program has five core objectives:

  • To create awareness about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene and to promote best practices in personal hygiene;
  • To create a clean environment for all Indians through waste management;
  • To improve access to safe drinking water and sanitation facilities for all;
  • To increase crop production through better soil health and pest control.

The program employs a variety of initiatives to achieve its goals, including educational campaigns, public-private partnerships, and financial incentives. In January 2013, the Indian government announced plans to spend Rs. 2,500 crores over three years on Clean India initiatives to improve sanitation coverage in rural areas and boost garbage collection in cities. Clean India is an ambitious mission launched by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi in 2014 with the aim to make India a clean and pollution-free country by 2022. The initiative has been widely acclaimed for its potential to create jobs and promote economic growth, while also improving public health.

Paragraph on Clean India 400 + Words

India is one of the world’s most populous countries and its population is growing rapidly. To accommodate this increasing population, India has embarked on a project known as “Clean India.” The goal of this project is to make India a clean and sustainable country by improving sanitation, reducing air and water pollution, and increasing access to education and health care. In this blog post, we will explore the goals of Clean India and the ways you can help make it a reality. From donating money to supporting public health initiatives to volunteering in your community, read on to learn more about how you can contribute to this important initiative.

Clean India Initiative Launched

The government of India has announced the launch of a new initiative called “Clean India.” The goal of this initiative is to make India clean and pollution-free by 2020. The government has already begun to put in place plans to achieve this goal, and it will be working with various organizations and businesses to help make this happen.

The campaign aims to make India a clean and pollution-free country by 2022

The campaign aims to make India a clean and pollution-free country by 2022. The Clean India Mission was launched in October 2014 by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the goal of making India a pollution-free country within the next six years. The mission has set three goals for India: to achieve 100% household waste recycling by 2019, eliminate open defecation by 2019, and reduce air pollution levels by 50% by 2022. To meet these goals, the government is investing in renewable energy, improving public health infrastructure, and creating employment opportunities in environmental cleanup. Additionally, the government is working to improve communication between citizens and local officials, as well as with private companies. The government has set a target of making 100 cities air-purified. The Central government has set a target of making 100 cities air-purified by the year 2019. The Ministry of Urban Development had released a statement in this regard, saying that this would be done through various means such as using electronic waste to create charcoal filters and using waste water treatment plants. In order to make this ambitious goal possible, the Union Cabinet had approved Rs 10,000 crore for the same. Cities with large populations and uncontrolled pollution are the worst affected. Delhi, India’s capital has long been notorious for its poor air quality, with levels of PM2.5 – tiny particles that can enter the lungs and trigger serious health problems – regularly exceeding WHO safe limits. In January 2016, Delhi’s air quality was so bad that PM2.5 concentrations reached 1,000 µg/m3 (or more than 10 times the WHO safe limit). In response to public outcry, the Indian government announced plans to make 100 cities “air-purified” by 2019 – an ambitious but not impossible task if concerted effort is made across multiple sectors. There are several ways in which cities can be made “air-purified”: by using electronic waste to create charcoal filters; by using waste water treatment plants; and through various other measures such as Roadside Duster machines used to remove dust from roadsides and reduce vehicle emissions. Each method has its own pros and cons: electronic waste filters can be costly to install but

The central government will provide Rs 2,000 crore for the initiative

The central government has announced that it will provide Rs. 2000 crore for the initiative “Clean India”. The money will be used to upgrade infrastructure and provide support for sanitation programmes. The goal of the initiative is to make India a clean and pollution-free nation by 2019. This is a major step forward in the fight against pollution, and shows the commitment of the government to improving public health. It is also an opportunity to create jobs, increase economic growth, and create a more sustainable environment. By investing in Clean India, the government is making sure that everyone in India can enjoy a healthy environment and improved public health.

The regional governments will also pitch in funds

Clean India is an ambitious scheme by the Narendra Modi-led Central government to make India a clean and green country. The regional governments will also pitch in funds to help realize this goal. According to a report by The Hindu, the central government has allocated Rs 2,000 crore for the first phase of Clean India which will cover Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. Other states are expected to follow suit with their respective allocations. The first phase of Clean India will see an effort made to clean up rivers and lakes as well as other bodies of water such as tanks and canals. Water shortages are common across India and making sure that all of these sources are cleaner will go a long way in addressing this issue. The campaign will cover all sectors including urban areas, transport, industrial estates and agricultural areas The campaign will cover all sectors including urban areas, transport, industrial estates and agricultural areas. The government has set a target of creating an environment free of open defecation by 2019, which will be achieved through door-to-door initiatives and campaigns in schools.

Essay on Clean India

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched by the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi on 2 October 2014. It was launched to promote cleanliness in society. Till now, it has successfully covered 4041 cities across India. It is one of the important campaigns launched by the Government of India. The ultimate objective is to maintain a healthy and clean environment. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is also known as Clean India Mission or Clean India Drive. It is a national campaign where states are also a part of the mission.

The Concept Behind Such Programs

Cleanliness is our right, and it is also essential whether it is our home, public areas or workplaces. It is one of the basic needs to stay civilised. Therefore, the mission aims to eradicate open defecation throughout the country. Lots of significant efforts have been made since the commencement on October 2, 2014.

As per the statistics, the Government of India has built more than 10 crores of toilets across the country. The motive is to promote proper sanitation and stay healthy. Till now, 36 Indian states have been made defecation free, and the mission is truly on the way to success. It has improved the quality of living among people from many states.

Our government is leaving no stones unturned only to make sure that India becomes cleaner and more hygienic. The scheme has also made people more responsible for sanitation practices. Therefore, we must do our bit to help with the noble mission.

Impacts on Rural Areas

As the campaign was launched to make our country healthier and cleaner, the majority of the missions have had a great impact on the rural areas. In most villages, sanitation programs used to be a far-reaching concept due to the absence of proper toilets. To this day, with the government initiative, things have changed to a better picture both on the rural and urban scale.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has helped small towns in the maintenance drives when it comes to streets and other places. It is not just about our houses, but also to maintain and following the practices when it comes to public places like parks and other areas of tourist attractions. Maintenance of cleanliness not only helps in the improvement of the standard living condition but also provides a positive image when foreigners visit our country.

A Clear Determination of the Objectives

The primary objective of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is to spread awareness of cleanliness and let people understand its importance. The motto is to provide basic sanitation facilities, liquid and solid waste disposal systems, safe and adequate drinking water and supply to overall village cleanliness. The action plan has been laid by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation. A lot of unhygienic approaches have been controlled after 2019. It also has the plan of implementing a complete Open Defecation Free India.

Highlights of Action Plans :

Improvement in the growth percentage of toilets from 3% to 10%.

Increasing the construction of toilets from 14000 to 48000 per day.

Launching a State Level or National Level media campaign through mobile devices, audio-visual, telephone and local programmes.

Involving school children in the activities for spreading the awareness of sanitation, water and hygiene.

The campaign also aims to conduct open sessions and discussions on hygiene and menstrual health, along with the establishment of eco-wash clubs. It does not focus on the problems of pollution, rather points out the side effects of the same and make people more cautious to prevent future difficulties.

clean india essay 100 words

Indians must learn to re-use old plastic items. Probably, most Indians just throw away such items after using them. One must do creative things with these old plastic items to re-use them.

Another notable way to clean India is the compost pit. Compost pit helps in the preparation of compost. To create compost pit at home, some items are required. These items are kitchen wastes, leaves, grass, etc. Consequently, the microorganisms convert this organic matter into compost.

Community cleanliness drive is yet another brilliant way of making India clean. It has a psychological benefit. This is because it is easier to do a thing when others are doing it. For example, Prime Minister Narendra Modi began Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Indians must use fabric bags rather than polythene bags. Indians must stop getting vegetables in a polythene bag from a vendor. Hence, Indians must carry their own fabric bags when shopping.

The Problematic Attitude of Indians

Indians probably pay a lot of attention to cleaning themselves. However, the same Indians don’t care much about the environmental cleanliness. Almost all Indians love to keep their houses clean, but don’t bother about the country. Unfortunately, many Indians avoid or ignore cleaning the country. This is certainly a sad situation. Indians are also careless about waste disposal. Probably, many Indians throw away wastes on the streets. So, often one sees Indians throwing garbage on the streets. This makes the streets dirty. Indians don’t care about polluting various types of facilities.

One inspirational example for Indians can be Thailand. Thailand is a third world country just like India. However, in spite of being poor Thailand is still very clean. In contrast, India looks pretty dirty. The attitude of the people of India is to blame for that. In India, the unfortunate attitude is “make sure I am safe”. The attitude of Thai’s is – “make sure others are safe”.

In conclusion, clean India is a very important issue. Public awareness regarding it must certainly be spread. Clean India should be the rallying cry of the entire nation.

Essay on Clean India 500 Words in English

We have provided Clean India Essay in English, suitable for class 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10.

“In a gentle way, you can shake the world”~ Mahatma Gandhi .

India is one of the most populated countries in this world. Because we live in a densely populated country, we must keep our society green and clean. Citizens of India should become more mindful of their actions. This way, our country will be healthy. Litter and waste can cause a serious threat to the environment we live in. It invites diseases and disrupts our lives. Improper waste disposal activities, combined with pollution , make us sick.

Moreover, it is the prime reason to destroy the aesthetic charm of a place. Thus, Clean India is what we need at the moment. Recently, there have been a lot of missions that have been undertaken by our government. The Clean India mission is one of them. In Hindi, it translates to Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. It is certainly one of the most powerful campaigns India has ever witnessed. Here we are going to discuss the same in a detailed manner.

What is Swachh Bharat Abhiyan?

The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched by India’s Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi on 2nd October 2014 ( Gandhi Jayanti ). This scheme was launched in Delhi on this particular day as a token to honour Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of Clean India. This project is administered by the Indian Government. The intention behind it is to cover all the cities, towns and villages of India and keep them clean.

The Ministry of Urban and Rural Development is responsible for the drive. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has set a lot of goals and achieving these goals will lead towards a greener and cleaner India. Not only are the workers responsible for the cleanliness , but we as citizens must also equally contribute towards the plan. Overall, it is a great initiative that makes us aware of the impact of cleanliness.

Objective of Swachh Bharat Mission

The Clean India mission is one of a kind. It is the first such social movement that happened on a huge scale. The project initially covered 4041 cities and was expected to have a budget of over 1.96 lakh crore. One of the most important aims of it includes building toilets for every household. It also provides sanitation facilities to all the government schools, colleges, and public areas. It helps the municipalities of several areas to provide the people with fresh potable water.

To promote cleanliness, it has offered us with proper drainage systems, bathing facilities, hand pumps, etc. The problem of open defecation in rural areas is quite relevant. This mission wants to eliminate it for good. It helps to change the mindset of the public. When it comes to sanitation, people in our country neglect the waste and throw it outside. This only makes their locality dirty and unhygienic.

It wants to educate citizens about the proper management of household waste. The drive intends to keep the roads, bridges, public places, offices, and other infrastructure clean. A major part of it focuses on the cleanliness of the rivers and forests. The plan of cleaning the Ganga River (in Uttar Pradesh) came under this scheme.

How to Clean India?

If we compare India to the other nations, we realize how dire our country’s condition truly is. Thailand, for example, is contrastingly much cleaner. The attitude of the citizens plays a vital role in the transformation of a country. Thus, we need to have a mission that can eradicate filth and dirt from India. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a great cleanliness drive that considers our well-being. It enhances our living conditions.

Through its objectives, it helps strengthen public health. Since its initiation, we can notice that different places in a locality have been provided with waste collection bins.  People serve to be the key to bringing a massive change of some sort. Together, we can make our country free of dirt and garbage in many ways. Some of these ways have been mentioned below:

  • We can separate the dry and the wet wastes before discarding them from our homes.
  • Segregation of waste (biodegradable, recyclable, and other waste) is very important. Do not ignore it. Most importantly, always throw the trash in the dustbin.
  • Try to carry a recycled paper bag. If you don’t find a bin, you can keep the waste in this paper bag and later dump it in a bin.
  • Reuse plastic items. Make something creative out of it.
  • Prepare a compost pit at home. The plant waste from your kitchen and the dead leaves can be used for compost. This will act as excellent organic manure for the plants in your garden.
  • Start using fabric bags instead of polythene. Always carry these to the market when you are shopping.

India will flourish if all Indians come together and play their part in this drive. No government scheme has ever been successful without the cooperation of the citizens. The Clean India Mission is an important issue that needs our active participation. A cleaner environment is essential to all of us. It is the first step towards prosperity.

A cleaner nation attracts more tourists, and this is a direct input to its economy. Moreover, if India is clean, we will be the first ones to be benefited from it. Devoid of diseases, our health will be promoted. Let us all do our part to take care of ourselves, our families, our friends, and our nation.

Clean India Green India Essay (1000 Words)

Cleanliness is next to godliness . We all seek to have a clean environment as it helps us to be healthy and sound. We all must look over this issue, and it’s our utmost duty to keep our surroundings clean and healthy.

The government has played a pivotal role in achieving the goal of a clean environment and launched 2 national programs—”Clean India and Green India”. Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off this movement by cleaning the roads.

This campaign is commonly known as Swach Bharat Abhiyan or the Clean India Movement. The Green India campaign came into action on the recommendation of the Prime Minister’s council, and it mainly focuses on climate change issues.

Meaning of Clean India Green India

We are all aware of the famous proverb that cleanliness is next to godliness. But we never followed cleanliness properly.

Various benefits are associated with keeping the environment clean and healthy. A clean environment helps to save our endangered species from going extinct. We can breathe clean air in a clean environment.

Clean India Green India should become the dream of every Indian citizen. Many Indians have started to take cleanliness seriously with the launch of the Swach Bharat Abhiyan.

People have now started cleaning their surroundings and correctly disposing of the garbage. But still, we see that many of them are not taking this agenda very seriously.

The beginning of everything requires a kick start. One of the best ways to begin this drive is by cleaning our homes first. After that, we can collaborate with our immediate neighbours and clean the surroundings of our society.

Now the governments are also interfering in this programme. It has started to subsidise the cost of raw materials for the construction of raw materials.

Some steps must be taken by us in this regard:

  • We should carry a recyclable bag when we move out of the house.
  • Do not depend on those plastic non-recyclable bags . We should not throw garbage here and there.
  • Focus on composting the kitchen waste at home, which will lower the garbage volume sent to landfills and also reduce the chance of some products becoming marine debris.

Clean India Campaign

The Clean India campaigns were launched in the year 2014 during Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary. The clean India campaign is also known as Swach Bharat Abhiyan or Swachh Bharat Mission.

The government of India initiated this campaign to eliminate all open defecation. It also aims to improve solid waste management. This programme was launched with a lot of fanfare in the capital city of Delhi.

During the launching event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that cleanliness is a virtue that should be cultivated in every individual. In this event, he moved into a colony, which is the inhabitant site of the sanitation worker, and started to broom to clean a public place.

Clean India Healthy India

India is emerging as a world superpower. We are the largest democratic country in terms of population.

A few years back, Surat, a city in Gujarat, was badly affected and struck by the plague due to the rat-infested garbage heaps. After that incident, the town woke up, and today the city is very spicy and crowded.

In our Indian culture, we emphasise more on the purity of the mind than the purity of the cleanliness of the external environment.

That’s why uncleanliness is a major problem in India. And the people of India are not much worried about the uncleanliness. This uncleanliness is visible in both rural and urban places.

In today’s economy, garbage is the real threat to the development and prosperity of a nation. This problem has increased mainly due to commercialization and industrialization .

Plastic is the only one that makes significant chunks of the waste generated, and the disposal becomes hard.

To deal with these garbage-related issues, the Clean India Campaign was launched, which aims at resolving the problems related to garbage that we face in India. The prime minister’s council also approved green India’s mission climate change .

The main agenda of this Green India campaign is to combat climate change and its negative repercussions. The goal is achieved by planting a large number of trees in the forest and the town’s neighbouring areas to increase the rate of carbon dioxide sequestration.

In this way, the maximum amount of carbon dioxide is absorbed from the atmosphere and stored in the trees. This helps in reducing the carbon footprint on the earth.

10 Lines on Clean India Green India Essay

  • Clean India Green India means cleaning every street, village, and city in India.
  • The Clean India Campaign and Green India Campaign are 2 programmes launched by the government of India to assist the cleaning.
  • Citizens of India should focus on this clean India campaign and use jute bags or paper bags instead of poly bags.
  • Clean India helps to keep India healthy and clean, and for that, a proper sewerage system is also necessary.
  • The excessive use of plastic is deteriorating India. That’s why the first step to cleaning India is saying no to plastic use.
  • The government also put forward efforts in the direction of solid waste management by sending sanitary workers with vans to every house for the collection of household garage.
  • These vans also raise awareness of wet and dry waste. Wet waste includes biodegradable waste, and it includes all the cooked and uncooked material.
  • Dry waste is non-biodegradable waste and it includes metal, leather, plastic, glasses, and rubber wire.
  • Dry waste is collected in a blue-colored dustbin while the wet or biodegradable waste is thrown into a green-colored dustbin.
  • The clean India programmes aim at raising awareness of the open defecation system.

India will flourish if all the Indians come together and participate in this waste management and cleanliness programme. The government scheme can only succeed in this clean India initiative until and unless the citizens cooperate with the government.

This mission can only become successful with our active participation. A clean and healthy environment is the first step toward prosperity and is essential for us.

A clean and healthy nation attracts tourists, which will directly provide input to the Indian economy.

We will be the first ones to benefit once this programme becomes successful. Our health will be promoted. We will all be devoid of diseases. We should take care of our nation the way we take care of our family and friends .

Lastly, a clean, India Healthy and Green India should be our prime focus area, and we must participate actively in this program.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Essay 400 words

The father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi, had once said that “Sanitation is more important than Independence” during his time before the independence of India. He was well aware of the bad and unclean situation of India. He greatly emphasized cleanliness and sanitation to the people of India and their implementation in their daily lives. However, it was not so effective and was unsuccessful because of the incomplete participation of people. After so many years of independence, a most effective clean-up campaign is launched to call people for active participation and complete the cleanliness mission.

Launch of Swachh Bharat Campaign

The Former President of India, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, said in June 2014, while addressing the Parliament, “For ensuring hygiene, waste management, and sanitation across the nation, a Swachh Bharat Mission will be launched. This will be our tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary in 2019”. To fulfill the vision of Mahatma Gandhi and make India an ideal country in the world, the Prime Minister of India initiated a campaign called Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi (2nd October 2014). This campaign aims to complete the Mission by 2019, i.e., the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

Importance of Swachh Bharat Campaign

Through this campaign, the Government of India solves the sanitation problems by enhancing waste management techniques. The clean India movement is completely associated with the country’s economic strength. The birth date of Mahatma Gandhi is targeted in both the launch and the completion of the Mission.

The basic goals behind launching the Swachh Bharat Mission are to make the country full of sanitation facilities and eliminate all people’s unhealthy practices in daily routines. The first cleanliness drive in India was started on 25th September 2014 and was initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi by cleaning up the road.

Benefits of the Swachh Bharat Campaign

The completion of this Mission would indirectly draw the attention of business investors in India, enhance the GDP growth, draw tourists’ attention from all over the world, bring a variety of sources of employment, reduce health costs, reduce the death rate, and reduce lethal disease rate and many more. Clean India would bring more tourists and enhance its economic condition. The Prime Minister of India has requested that every Indian devote 100 hours per year to cleanliness in India, which is sufficient to make this country clean by 2019. Swachh Bharat cess is also started to get some funds for this campaign. Everyone has to pay an extra 0.5% tax (50 paise per 100 rupees) on all the services in India.

UP CM Yogi Adityanath also started a cleanliness drive in 2017 in Uttar Pradesh to ensure cleanliness in the official buildings. He has banned eating paan, gutka, and other tobacco products in government offices.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is one of the most important initiatives taken by the Government to make India shine in the world. But what it requires the most is the active participation of every individual irrespective of caste, creed, or religion. If we want our country to be respected and revered in the world, we should devote ourselves to this campaign by contributing to the cause and spreading awareness of the Swachh Bharat Mission. Then only the dream of Mahatma Gandhi could be achieved in a real sense.

Earlier, many awareness programs (such as the Total Sanitation Campaign, Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan, etc.) about environmental sanitation and personal cleanliness were launched by the Indian Government; however, they were not very effective in making India a clean India.

The major objectives of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan are removing the trend of open defecation, changing insanitary toilets into pour flush toilets, removal of manual scavenging, proper disposal of solid and liquid wastes, bringing behavioral changes among people, enhancing awareness about sanitation, facilitating the participation of private sectors towards cleanliness facilities.

To ensure cleanliness in the official buildings of UP, chewing of paan, gutka, and other tobacco products was banned entirely by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. To continue and make this campaign successful, the Finance Ministry of India has started a program named Swachh Bharat cess, according to which everyone has to pay 0.5% tax on all the services in India (i.e., 50 paise per 100 rupees), which will fund this cleanliness campaign.

‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ or the ‘Clean India Mission’ should not only be the Government or the ministries; it is the responsibility of every citizen residing in the country. Achieving the goal of a clean India will never be possible until and unless we collaborate and join hands to clean our surroundings and stop others from making them dirty.

The participation and involvement of people in this campaign were huge. Also, they started showing positive results in recent times, but the most important thing is the continuation of this process. Let us pledge to continue doing our bit to make our surroundings and environment clean and green and make our country respected in the world.

Clean India, often associated with the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan,” is a national campaign aimed at cleaning up our cities, towns, and villages. It’s not just about sweeping the streets but involves waste management, sanitation, and public hygiene.

Green India is an initiative to increase green cover, promote sustainable living, and reduce environmental pollution. It involves everything from planting trees to using renewable energy.

Clean India Green India Essay in English in 150 words is as follows:

There needs to be a cleanup in India. Garbage and waste pose a severe threat to the country. It unquestionably ruins the visual appeal of our country. It could also result in a variety of problems. Taking out the garbage is easier with a bag made of recycled paper. Therefore, Indians can carry this bag to the trash bin to dispose of their waste.

A community-wide cleaning campaign is a great way to get India clean. It has psychological benefits. This is true because it’s simpler to do something when others are doing it. For instance, the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Indians most likely take great care to maintain their cleanliness. But these same Indians don’t think much about the environment.

Indians don’t care about polluting various types of facilities. To provide every Indian citizen with a sanitary living environment, we must build a clean and green India. We must all work together to raise awareness about this Clean India Green India in order to build an environment that is clean and hygienic for everyone.

Clean India Green India Essay in English 500 words

Clean India Green India Essay in English in 500 words is as follows:

The country of India has to be cleaned up. The nation is seriously threatened by wastes and garbage. It undeniably ruins our nation’s aesthetic appeal. Furthermore, it may lead to a number of disorders. As a result of incorrect trash disposal, many Indians get sick. There are several methods that people can clean up India. First of all, you must always have a little carry bag with you. A recycled paper bag is the best.

Undoubtedly, Indians use it to empty trash cans. Indians probably toss their rubbish on the ground rather than carrying it. But a bag made of recycled paper makes carrying trash simpler. Indians can therefore transport this bag to the trash can to dispose of their garbage. Separating trash is also crucial. A lot of Indians choose to disregard it. The separation of garbage at home should be in three different containers, which is most important. Biodegradable, recyclable, and others are the three bins. The waste management division ought to aid in the implementation of this method.

Indians need to learn to reuse their used plastic goods. Most Indians probably just throw these things aside after using them. To reuse these outdated plastic objects, one needs think outside the box. India can also be cleaned using a compost pit. Compost preparation is aided by a compost pit. There are certain materials needed to build a compost pit at home. These include garden wastes, leaves, grass, and other debris. As a result, this organic debris is transformed into compost by the microbes.

Another fantastic strategy for getting India clean is a community-wide cleanliness initiative. It is advantageous psychologically. This is because doing something when others are doing it makes it easier. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, for instance. Polythene bags are not permitted for usage by Indians. Indians must avoid purchasing veggies from street vendors in polythene bags. Indians are therefore required to bring their own fabric bags when they shop.

Indians probably take great care to keep themselves clean. The same Indians, though, don’t give the environment much thought. Nearly all Indians enjoy keeping their homes spotless, but they don’t care about their nation. Unfortunately, a lot of Indians avoid or neglect to clean the nation. Undoubtedly, this is a tragic circumstance. In terms of waste disposal, Indians are likewise careless. Probably a large number of Indians litter the streets. Indians frequently toss trash on the streets, as a result. As a result, the streets are dirty. Indians are unconcerned with polluting different kinds of facilities. We need to create a clean India and Green India in order to get a hygienic living environment for every citizen of India. In order to achieve such an Environment which is clean and hygienic for everyone, we and you all need to come forward and create awareness for this Clean India Green India.

In conclusion, it can be said that the current attitude of Indians need to change and we need to the rule of cleaning not only ourselves, but also our surroundings. And by doing so, we can achieve our Goal of Clean India Green India.

100 Words Essay on Clean And Healthy India

Introduction.

India, a diverse and vibrant nation, has always strived for cleanliness and health. A clean and healthy India is not just a dream, but a necessity for the well-being of its citizens.

Importance of Cleanliness

Cleanliness is vital for our physical and mental health. Clean surroundings prevent the spread of diseases, thus promoting a healthier lifestyle for everyone.

Role of Health

Health, on the other hand, plays a crucial role in our lives. A healthy citizen contributes more effectively to the nation’s growth and development.

In conclusion, a clean and healthy India is the stepping stone towards a prosperous nation. Let’s join hands in making this dream a reality.

250 Words Essay on Clean And Healthy India

India, a country of diverse cultures and traditions, is currently facing significant challenges in maintaining cleanliness and health standards. The importance of a clean and healthy India cannot be overstated, for it directly impacts the country’s socio-economic development and the well-being of its citizens.

The Importance of Cleanliness

Cleanliness is not just about maintaining a visually appealing environment. It is intrinsically linked to public health. Poor sanitation and waste management can lead to the proliferation of disease vectors, causing outbreaks of illnesses such as dengue and cholera. Moreover, cleanliness contributes to the overall aesthetic appeal of the country, thereby promoting tourism, a significant contributor to India’s economy.

Health: A National Priority

Health, on the other hand, is a broader concept encompassing not just the absence of disease, but also the physical, mental, and social well-being of individuals. A healthy population is the backbone of a prosperous nation, contributing positively to the workforce and reducing the burden on the healthcare system.

Government Initiatives and Citizen Participation

The government’s role in promoting a clean and healthy India is undeniable. Initiatives like the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan have made significant strides in improving sanitation facilities. However, the onus doesn’t lie solely on the government. Citizens too, must actively participate in maintaining cleanliness and adopting healthy lifestyles.

The vision of a clean and healthy India can only be realized through collective responsibility and action. It requires a shift in mindset, where cleanliness and health are not just seen as personal, but as communal responsibilities. This vision, if actualized, will undoubtedly contribute to the overall progress of the nation.

500 Words Essay on Clean And Healthy India

India, with its diverse cultures, traditions, and geographies, is a nation of vast potential. However, its progress is often hindered by issues of cleanliness and public health. The vision of a Clean and Healthy India is not just about aesthetics; it is a critical component of sustainable development and a determinant of quality of life.

Cleanliness is the cornerstone of a healthy nation. A clean environment prevents the spread of diseases, enhances the quality of air and water, and contributes to overall well-being. India, as a developing nation, faces significant challenges in waste management and sanitation. Uncontrolled dumping of waste in public spaces and water bodies leads to pollution, posing severe health risks. Therefore, it is imperative to promote cleanliness, not just as a personal habit but as a societal norm.

Healthcare in India

Healthcare is another critical aspect of a healthy nation. India’s healthcare sector has made significant strides, but disparities exist. While urban areas boast state-of-the-art medical facilities, rural areas often lack basic healthcare infrastructure. Furthermore, the high out-of-pocket expenditure on health pushes many into poverty. A healthy India requires an equitable and accessible healthcare system that caters to all strata of society.

The Role of Government Initiatives

The government has launched several initiatives to address these challenges. The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, for instance, aims to achieve universal sanitation coverage and improve cleanliness. Similarly, the Ayushman Bharat scheme seeks to provide affordable healthcare to the underprivileged. These initiatives, while commendable, need effective implementation and public participation to realize their full potential.

Individual and Community Participation

The vision of a Clean and Healthy India cannot be achieved by government initiatives alone; it requires individual and community participation. Citizens must understand the importance of cleanliness and health, and incorporate them into their daily lives. Community-led initiatives like waste segregation, recycling, and cleanliness drives can have a profound impact. Similarly, awareness about preventive healthcare, regular check-ups, and healthy lifestyle choices can mitigate health risks.

Way Forward

The road to a Clean and Healthy India is challenging but achievable. It requires a multi-pronged approach that involves policy intervention, infrastructure development, public awareness, and behavioral change. The education system can play a crucial role in instilling the values of cleanliness and health in young minds.

Moreover, leveraging technology can improve waste management and healthcare delivery. Innovations like waste-to-energy conversion, telemedicine, and digital health records can revolutionize these sectors.

In conclusion, a Clean and Healthy India is not an abstract concept but a tangible goal. It requires collective effort, persistent action, and a shift in mindset. As responsible citizens, we must contribute to this vision in our capacities, for it is only in a clean and healthy environment that we can truly prosper.

Clean India Green India is a nationwide campaign launched by the Government of India on 2nd October 2014, the 145th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The campaign aims to clean all the towns and villages of India by October 2, 2019, the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

The campaign also aims to promote sanitation and hygiene practices among the people of India. To better grasp the importance of the Clean India Green India movement, we need to look back at its history.

India’s rapid industrialization and urbanization have led to significant environmental challenges. However, in recent decades, there has been a shift in thinking towards environmental protection and sustainable development. This shift is crucial for India’s future and the health of our planet.

We want to develop our country without harming the environment, so that future generations can also enjoy a clean and healthy planet.

The Indian government has launched a number of initiatives to promote clean energy, reduce pollution, and protect forests. There is also a growing awareness among Indian citizens about the importance of environmental protection.

Significance of Clean India Green India

1. environmental conservation.

Clean India Green India emphasizes how important it is to take care of our environment. It wants people to use things carefully, not waste them, and make sure we do not harm our natural world. This means we need to be smart about how we use things, like water and electricity, and not use too much.

We also need to be careful about our garbage and not throw it just anywhere. We should try to recycle and reuse things whenever we can.

Another important thing is to protect our plants and animals. India is home to many different kinds of plants and animals, and we want to make sure they stay safe. So, we plant more trees in a process called afforestation, and we look after our wildlife through wildlife conservation programs. This helps keep the balance in nature and makes sure our country stays green and full of life.

2. Public Health Improvement

A cleaner and greener India has a big effect on the health of the people. When we talk about cleaner and greener, it means making our surroundings and environment cleaner and having more green plants and trees. This is very good for public health, which means the health of all the people who live in India.

First, let’s talk about proper sanitation. This means having clean toilets and places for people to go to the bathroom. When we have good toilets and keep them clean, it helps to stop the spread of diseases. People do not get sick as often, and this makes them healthier.

Reducing pollution is also important. Pollution is when the air and water get dirty and harmful. It can make people sick, especially if they breathe in dirty air or drink polluted water. When we work to reduce pollution, the air we breathe and the water we drink become cleaner, which is better for our health.

Access to clean water is another important thing. When people have easy access to clean and safe water for drinking and washing, they stay healthier. They do not get sick from dirty water, and they can keep themselves and their surroundings clean.

So, when we make India cleaner and greener, we are also making sure that the people are healthier because they have good toilets, cleaner air and water, and they learn better ways to keep things clean. This is very important for the well-being, or health and happiness, of millions of people in India.

3. Economic Growth

Sustainable practices are good for the environment and also help the economy grow. When we put money into things like renewable energy (like solar and wind power), Eco-tourism (when people visit nature spots responsibly), and green technologies (like Eco-friendly machines), it creates more jobs.

People get to work in these new fields, and that is good for India’s economy. So, when we take care of our environment in smart ways, we not only help our planet but also make our country stronger and more prosperous. It is like doing good for nature and people at the same time.

Achievements

1. swachh bharat abhiyan.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, which started in 2014, is like a big and important project. It has helped a lot to make our country cleaner and safer. This project is a big step towards making our country cleaner and healthier for everyone.

They built millions of toilets so that people do not have to go to the open fields. This is a big change because open defecation, which means going outside instead of using a toilet, has gone down a lot. So, now more people have access to clean and safe toilets, which is very good for our health and the environment.

2. Renewable Energy Revolution

In recent years, India has become a world leader in making clean energy from things like sunlight and wind. This is important because it helps the environment and gives more people access to energy.

India set big goals for making energy from the sun and wind. They built many solar panels to catch the sunlight and wind turbines to catch the wind’s power. By doing this, they made more electricity without causing much pollution.

Reducing pollution is essential because it helps keep the air and water clean, which is good for people’s health and the planet. When we burn fossil fuels like coal and oil for energy, it releases harmful stuff into the air, like carbon emissions. These emissions are bad for the environment and can make the Earth’s climate change.

3. Afforestation Initiatives

Efforts like the Green India Mission have been all about growing more trees and making our forests bigger in India. This is super important because it helps us in two big ways.

First, when we plant more trees, it means there are more trees to soak up the harmful gases, like carbon dioxide, from the air. These gases are like a warm blanket around the Earth, making it hotter, which we call climate change. But trees are like our helpers; they take these harmful gases away and cool down our planet.

Second, having more trees means more homes for animals and birds. When we cut down trees for things like houses or paper, these creatures lose their homes. So, by growing more trees, we give them a safe place to live.

So, the Green India Mission is like a superhero mission because it fights climate change and helps our animal friends at the same time! Planting trees is a simple but powerful way to make our world a better place.

1. Pollution Control

In India’s big cities, like Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata, there is a big problem with dirty air and water. This means the air we breathe and the water we use for drinking and other things are not clean. It is a serious problem.

Fixing these problems is not easy. We need strict rules or laws to make sure factories and cars do not make the air worse. We also need new and better ideas and machines to clean up the air and water. This means scientists and engineers must work together to invent and improve things.

But it is not only up to the government and experts. Everyone needs to understand why clean air and water are important. We all must do our part to save the environment. This means we need to learn about it and make good choices in our daily lives. Like not littering or wasting water, and using things that are better for the environment. If we all work together, we can make India’s air and water cleaner and healthier for everyone.

2. Waste Management

Effective waste management continues to be a big problem in India. Every day, a huge amount of garbage is produced, and we need to do a better job of recycling and disposing of it.

Many places in India do not have the right systems in place to handle all this waste. The places where we put our trash, like landfills and incinerators, need to be improved. These are like giant trash bins where waste is either buried in the ground or burned. Sometimes, these methods can harm the environment and people’s health if not done properly.

Recycling is another important part of managing waste. It is like giving things a second chance. We can recycle paper, plastic, glass, and many other materials to make new things. But not enough people are recycling, and we need better facilities to make it easier for everyone.

3. Population Pressure

India’s population is getting bigger very fast, and this puts a lot of pressure on our nature and the things we use to build and live. It is like trying to keep a balance between two very heavy things. This is a really hard job.

Imagine if you have a plate with some food on it. If you keep putting more and more food on it, the plate might break because it can’t hold everything. That is a bit like what’s happening with India’s population and our environment. We need to make sure we have enough for everyone to live comfortably, but we also have to take care of our environment, like the air we breathe and the water we drink.

So, it is a big challenge to make sure we keep our country developing and growing, but at the same time, we need to make sure we do not harm our nature too much.

Future Prospects

1. policy reforms.

India needs to create and follow strict rules to protect the environment. This means making laws that are very serious about taking care of nature. We should also make sure that in farming, factories, and how we move around (like in cars and buses), we do things that do not hurt the environment.

For example, in farming, we can use techniques that do not harm the land and water. In factories, we can use clean methods and not pollute the air or water. When we travel, we can use cleaner fuels or use public transport to reduce pollution.

By doing these things and making sure everyone follows these rules, we can make sure our environment stays safe and healthy. It is like taking care of our home so that it stays clean and nice for us and for the generations that come after us. This is really important for the well-being of our country and our planet.

2. Public Awareness

Education and awareness campaigns play a big role in helping people learn and understand how to take care of our environment. When we talk about education and awareness, we mean teaching and telling people about why It is important to protect nature and use resources wisely.

These campaigns can empower citizens, which means they make regular people like you and me feel like we can make a difference. Imagine learning about recycling, reducing waste, and using energy in a smarter way. When we know these things, we can start making choices that are good for the environment.

So, making sure that more people understand why It is important to take care of the environment and helping them learn how to do it should be a top priority. When we all work together, we can make our world a better place for everyone.

3. Green Technologies

Investing in green technologies and research means putting money into new ideas and ways of doing things that are good for the environment. It is like finding better and cleaner ways to make stuff and do work.

When we invest in green technologies, it helps us come up with smart and creative solutions to the problems that harm our planet. For example, we can discover new ways to make energy without polluting the air or water. We can also find ways to use fewer resources and make less waste when we produce things.

This is important because it not only helps the Earth but also makes businesses and industries better. They can save money by using less energy and materials. So, by investing in these green technologies and doing research, we can make our world cleaner, save money, and create new ways of doing things that are good for everyone. It is like finding the best and most eco-friendly path for our industries to follow.

4. International Cooperation

Working together with other countries on environmental problems, like finding ways to reduce the effects of climate change, can make India’s efforts stronger and help the whole world stay healthy. When countries join hands, they can share ideas, resources, and knowledge to solve big issues that affect the planet.

For example, India can work with other nations to reduce the pollution that makes our air and water dirty. By learning from each other, we can find better ways to protect our environment and make sure we have clean air to breathe and clean water to drink.

By teaming up, we can also slow down climate change, which is when the Earth gets hotter because of pollution. Slowing it down means we can have a more stable and sustainable world for ourselves and future generations. So, when India cooperates with other nations, It is not just good for India but for everyone on Earth.

“Clean India Green India is not just a catchy phrase; It is like a big dream that shows how much India cares about the environment and wants to develop in a way that does not harm it. India has been doing many things to make this dream come true, but there are still some tough challenges to face. To make India clean and green, lots of people need to work together, like the leaders who make the rules, the companies that make things, the communities where we live, and each of us as individuals.

Think of it like a journey. Right now, India is on a path toward this clean and green dream. But It is not just a destination; It is like a road that leads to a better future. If we keep going in the right direction, India will become a healthier place, where everyone can live better lives. We can do this by making good rules, working together, and taking care of our land, air, and water.

Clean India Healthy India Essay in Hindi 500 words

India is a beautiful country with vast landscapes, a rich culture, and diverse traditions. However, it is disheartening to witness the increasing amount of pollution and uncleanliness in our surroundings. Therefore, it is necessary to emphasize the importance of a clean India for a healthy India. In this essay, I will present arguments that showcase how cleanliness can significantly impact our health and well-being, and why it is crucial for us to actively participate in keeping our environment clean.

Reduction in Diseases:

Cleanliness plays a vital role in minimizing the spread of diseases. A clean environment prevents the breeding of mosquitoes and other disease-carrying insects, leading to a decrease in the risk of diseases such as dengue, malaria, and chikungunya. By maintaining cleanliness, we ensure that harmful pathogens do not multiply and cause infections. Therefore, a clean India translates into a healthier population.

Improved Air Quality:

With the growing industrialization and vehicle emissions in our country, air pollution has become a significant concern. Breathing polluted air can have severe health impacts, especially for children and the elderly. By promoting cleanliness, such as proper waste management and reducing air pollution sources, we can improve the quality of air we breathe, preventing respiratory problems, allergies, and other health issues.

Sanitation and Hygiene:

Cleanliness extends beyond just the environment. It also focuses on personal hygiene and sanitation. Proper sanitation facilities, including clean toilets and handwashing facilities, are essential to prevent the spread of diseases like diarrhea, cholera, and hepatitis. Children often fall prey to such illnesses due to unhygienic conditions. By educating ourselves and adopting good hygiene practices, we can ensure a healthier future for ourselves and the generations to come.

Boost in Tourism and Economy:

A clean India attracts both local and international tourists. Tourists prefer visiting clean and hygienic destinations. It not only enhances the overall experience but also improves the country’s economy by generating employment opportunities and promoting local businesses. A clean and healthy India will encourage more tourists to visit and explore, boosting the tourism industry and the nation’s growth.

Counterargument:

Some might argue that cleanliness initiatives are the government’s responsibility, not that of individuals. However, change starts from within, and every individual’s effort counts. The government can provide the necessary infrastructure and policies, but it is up to the citizens to actively participate in cleanliness drives and maintain cleanliness in their surroundings.

Conclusion:

A clean India is essential for our well-being and the overall progress of the nation. It is not only the government’s responsibility but also ours as responsible citizens. By practicing cleanliness, we create a healthier environment, reducing the spread of diseases and improving the air quality. Let us pledge to contribute towards a clean India, as it is not only beneficial for ourselves but also for the generations to come. Remember, “Clean India, Healthy India” is a vision we can turn into reality through our collective efforts.

However, this beauty is tarnished by the litter all around us. Thus, in this article, we provide a Clean India Green India Essay 500 words and Clean India Green India Essay 150.

Clean India Green India Essay

Clean India Green India Essay 500 words

A Clean India Green India Essay 500 words is as follows

Maintaining cleanliness is one of the most important parts of maintaining a healthy life. If we are surrounded by litter, filth, and waste, our health deteriorates productivity decreases, increases stress, reduces beauty etc. It also paints an unclean place in a bad picture.

India is developing at an unbelievable speed. Many things, products and services that we enjoy today were unimaginable a few decades ago. But, it has also led to our country becoming extremely unclean due to the huge amount of waste generated each day. The streets all around are full of litter and a strong foul odour can be smelled around that place. India has also performed poorly in the Global Environment Performance Index, falling to 177 position worldwide.

Most of the waste out there is produced by human activity. It consists of both biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste. However, waste generation is not a problem here; it is the careless behaviour of the people that is a problem. Littering is done on quite a large scale in India. Indians usually carelessly throw away waste on the streets in order to keep their houses and shops clean.

Such behaviour by people leads to many problems. First, it makes our streets unhygienic, and many times, too dirty to even walk. Second, it harms stray animals such as dogs and cows, who consume waste such as plastic and paper which harms their bodies. Third, it makes the streets look ugly, decreasing tourism. Fourth, litter also mixes with the soil to affect plant growth in a negative way. Waste mixes in the soil and prevents water from pouring down, hence decreasing the water supply for plants and trees.

It is important to not only keep our cities and country clean but also green. Indian cities rank among the top most polluted cities in the world. Increasing the green cover – a term used to describe the land covered by trees and plants– will increase the level of oxygen in the cities. Lately, various new measures such as plant walls and vertical gardens are used to improve beauty while adding oxygen to the air. Also, trees and plants are planted on the sides of the streets for a long.

Such creative measures are also good for the economy. They increase the beauty of a place, thus attracting more tourists and boosting the economy. They have also created demands for various items such as plants, pots, pot stands etc., thus creating jobs.

The Indian government has launched many initiatives and schemes promoting Clean India Green India, such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan– for the overall cleanliness of the country, Namami Gange (National Mission for Clean Ganga) Programme, Green Skill Development Programme, Toilets before Temples. Additionally, many Parliamentary acts have been passed to help increase green cover, such as Compensatory Afforestation Act. However, the greatest impact can be produced only if the people of India behave responsibly.

clean india essay 100 words

Clean India Green India Essay 150 words

A Clean India Green India Essay 150 words is as follows

Our country is a beautiful country, with mountains, beaches, deserts, plains, rivers etc found in abundance. But, as a developing country, India produces a lot of waste. But some waste does not end up in the waste dumps, but on the streets. This is a result of careless behaviour by the people who litter on the streets and make the cities dirty. Such careless behaviour not only makes the streets unclean but tarnishes the image of India.

Keeping India Clean and Green helps us in many ways. It makes people healthy, increases hygiene, and increases beauty. Thus, we must do our bit to keep our cities and country clean and green. We must not litter around and plant more trees and plants. We must also use dustbins to throw waste and learn to differentiate between solid and liquid waste. India can become Clean and Green only when the citizens become responsible.
