When the exams are over, the parents start looking for places to spend their vacation with family. They need to take a break from work and the continuous pressure of life in order to try to recharge the body so that they can continue to work actively.

I am a person who loves to travel to different countries and to know different cultures and traditions. I have traveled in the past vacation to many different countries and I enjoyed very much to know about these countries. I will tell you about these countries  and the advantages of each country of them.

Jordan has a Mediterranean climate; in the winter, temperatures often reach 1 ° C, rain falls and sometimes snow falls;  So it is advisable to visit Aqaba and enjoy its warm atmosphere and beautiful beach, and visit the famous Wadi Rum and pink Petra carved in rock.

 While in the summer temperatures reach an average of 30 degrees Celsius, so it is recommended to visit the mountain highlands in the Ajloun and Jerash, where the temperature is moderate.

The Egyptian Arabic Republic

 It contains many famous and ancient tourist sites,  You can go on a trip to Cairo to enjoy the ancient monuments of the region, such as churches and ancient mosques.

 Visiting the pyramids located in Giza is one of the greatest built by the Pharaohs. But avoid sunny and hot days to enjoy exploring the pyramids, walking the desert sands, riding horses and camels, and taking a tour of the Khufu ship or the sun boat.

I really enjoyed visiting all of these areas ,and took advantage of a lot of information that I did not know before, and I hope that everyone goes to these picturesque areas.

My last trip was to the Maldives. I woke up one day to a loud voice from my mother who was happy and asked us to come.

So I told her what’s going on, Mom, she simply said (Write your name).We are going on vacation to the Maldives. Gosh, there’s this crazy, jumping, happy, dancing moment.

We all talked to my father before that we wanted to go to the Maldives, but because of his permanent work, we could not go. So it was surprising to go on vacation outside the town, especially to the Maldives.

I am very happy with this trip. I enjoyed a lot of swimming in the wonderful turquoise water, which you can see the smallest details through.

We stayed on the island of Mali, which is one of the most beautiful places in the Maldives. Where there are some exciting  areas .

I also enjoyed very much visiting Isidhu and spending all night there. The place was very cool, candles near the water and sitting on the floor everything was great. I liked this place very much and the drinks also.

At the end of the trip, we went to the National Museum, where I enjoyed learning a lot about some wonderful information about the former civilization of the Maldives and its origins.

It was great to have a trip like this and I hope to do it again.

How I Spent My Last Holidays

Summer vacations are the longest holidays for the students. A week before the commencement of summer vacations, we relaxed our interest in studies. All of us made plans for spending our holidays as best as could be possible. I decided to visit my maternal uncle at Jaipur and to visit the various places of interest. I took a conducted tour of the Department of Tourism, Rajasthan and boarded their bus from outside the railway station. Our first halt was the museum. After seeing the museum, the bus took us to the Palace Hawa Mahal and Jantar Mantar. Then we proceeded to Amer Fort and our last halt was at the Laxmi Narain temple. Every day, I used to see many places in Jaipur and had a nice time with my maternal uncle, aunt and the cousins. I also went to see the handicraft festival along with them. My last holidays were well spent and I enjoyed myself immensely.

How I spent My Holiday

Happy days are here again! Its summer holidays. Father proudly announces that this year we are to visit Bhubaneshwar in Orissa. As our train transits from the southern belt towards the east, the red soil and brownish rocky landscape transforms into a lavish green belt interspersed with springs and lakes.

An endless sea of water with dingy fishing boats, fishing nets pegged in shallow water emerges. I am told this is the famous Chilka lake. The world’s largest fresh water lake. Bhubaneshwar is known as temple city. The famous Lingaraj temple of lord Shiva stood majestically       surrounded by one hundred shivalingas built the temple lands that stretched over quite a few kilometers.

Our next stop was Konarak. Enroute we passed through the famous Pipli village. Pipli is famous f appliqué work. There were colorful umbrellas, lamps, table covers and assorted things. Mother nearly bought the whole shop! The Sun temple at Konark is an architectural wonder, built in the shape of a chariot. This temple is dedicated to the sun god. The first ray of the sun falls at the feet of the deity. Each year the government organizes the dance festival of India here. Famous dancers of all schools come here to perform.

One last stop was Puri. There was this beautiful stretch of road along the sea. Lined with cashew nut plantations, palm trees and birds like the Siberian cranes. It was wonderful. The Puri beach was simply exotic. There were guides with tubes and comical caps that took us into the sea to swim. We collected shells, stones, artifacts to remember this lovely town.

Last stop was the Jagannath temple at Puri. Sitting majestically were 3 idols of Balbhadra. Subhadra and Jagannath. I prayed and thanked them for this lovely holiday and all the love and affection we had shared as family members on this trip together. That, also, our love and bonds be as strong as them brothers and sister. holiday to the coastal state of Orissa shall be the most memorable holiday of my life.

Writing an essay on how you spent your summer vacation is a classic way of starting a new school year. Think about this essay as an opportunity to tell a story about your summer while reflecting on the experiences you had. Choose a memorable moment you had this summer and start crafting your essay, giving as many details as possible.

Choosing a Topic

• These can also make nice visual aids if you are asked to present your essay.

• A list might be full of things like babysitting, attending a camp, working at a local store, taking a road trip, etc. This type of brainstorming can help you pick major events and other important moments from your summer.

• For example, maybe you spent your summer traveling around Japan. Think of a memorable moment you had while traveling — maybe you walked up a mountain in the pouring rain — and write about this moment, adding lots of details.

• For example, if you're writing about spending time at the beach, your outline could remind you to talk about the sandcastle building contest you entered, the dolphins you saw, and the ice cream you ate every day.
• Details might be what the other sandcastles looked like, how far away the dolphins were, and what kind of toppings were on your ice cream.
• Your outline is just to help you organize your thoughts — it can be written by hand or typed.

Crafting the Essay

• Instead of saying that you worked in a pet store, ate a PB&J sandwich, and walked home every day, talk about more than just your actions. You could talk about which pets are your favorites to work with, how it felt to eat the same sandwich every day, or what you thought about on your walk home.

• Using sensory details like these will help your readers visualize and engage with your writing. These help your audience make your experiences feel real to them, even though they weren't there.

• For example, instead of saying “I went to the beach this summer,” try saying “I spent my summer swimming in the frigid water at Virginia Beach.” The more details you can provide, the more engaged your reader will be.

• Instead of saying “the burger was really good,” you could say, “the burger was juicy and filling.”

• Don't just rely on spellcheck. It will help catch some errors, but it will miss some things, too.
• Ask a parent or other adult to read over your essay too, if you'd like.
• Setting your essay aside for a little while will give you a fresher perspective when you go back to revise it.

Talking about your last vacation is a good topic to prove how much you have learned about the simple past.

In this lesson, you are going to learn how to talk about your last vacation in English.

A basic question and answer about this topic are:

• I went to Hawaii with my family for a couple of weeks

The first set is basic questions that usually require some basic details to be answered:

All of those questions are really helpful when you have an oral test.

These are five examples of people describing their last vacations.

Pay Careful attention to verbs in the past form since you will see lots of them. You will also see verbs in the present in some instances.

The verbs in the past forms will be in bold so it is easier for you to remember them.

Don’t think that those examples are hard to create, you just need to create simple sentences and in some instances provide more details.

Last year, I had the chance the amusement park, Zarcero, and  Ciudad Quesada in a day. I wen t with my daughter, my wife, and some friends.

We woke up early that day and our friends drove us to the amusement park, my daughter enjoyed the many rides available, we ate pizza and we left  around three.

Then we  headed to San Carlos, on the way to San Carlos we stopped by the catholic church and took some pictures of ourselves in the gardens. 

We got to San Carlos around 5:00 PM, we had dinner there, picked some people up, and headed home.

Last year I  spent  my vacation at the beach. I  traveled  with some friends of mine. We arrived at the beach at 8:00 AM, we immediately went swimming then we made some sandwiches for lunch.

After lunch, we went running and we left the beach before 6:00 PM.

We drove back to the hotel and we  had dinner there. Around 9, we called our friends and we met outside a dance club because we wanted to dance.

We spent like three hours in the club and we got back to the hotel.

Last year, I went to Cartagena with my family and my best friend Luis. We visited my cousins Mayra and Alejandra. I hadn’t met them before, so I was really excited to meet them.

My first impression of them it was very good, they are friendly and fun. We went to visit many places but my favorite place was Barú island.

That island is amazing, it looks like a paradise, I took many pictures of every single we did.

The food was excellent. We ate shrimp rice and a shrimp cocktail. I had a great time with my family. We spent three amazing days in Cartagena.

Hello. I’d like to share with everybody the great time that I had on my last vacation. I went to Conchal Beach with my friends. We stayed at a small hotel right in front of the beach.

The first day we were there we took surfing lessons, my friends and I had so much fun hanging out at the beach.

There was another beach nearby, probably a five-minute walk and you are in Brasilito beach. We watched the sunset and we set a fire at night.

We spent most of the three days on the beach and we usually went to a club at night located in a place called Tamarindo. There is a beach in Tamarindo too.  It was one of the most special times I’ve had in my life.

My last holiday was a five-day trip to Guatemala I know Guatemala well because I lived there when I was a missionary more than ten years ago.

Instead of staying in a hotel, I stayed with one of my old friends. It wa s so much fun.

I wanted to visit all the places I lived, so I visited Baja Verapaz. It has changed a lot. I also went to the supermarket near my old house. 

We did some touristy things too. We went to Tikal. Nature is amazing up there. We walked across the historic monuments.

As the first day of my summer vacations started, I started getting bored easily. Mostly so because all my friends had gone to someplace or the other. My parents noticed this and decided to send me to a summer camp. Our school itself was organizing one in which my parents got me enrolled.

At first, I thought it would be of no use and would be equally boring. However, to my surprise, I was wrong. The summer camp was one of the best experiences of my life. I got the chance to indulge in so many activities and in fact, it was the first time where I discovered my talent for painting.

We got up early in the morning at 7 o’clock, despite no school. We had trainers who would teach us different things each day. On the first day, I got to learn karate, which was very amusing and helpful. Further, I learned how to play sports like basketball , table tennis, and volleyball.

Finally, came my most awaited part. We were taught painting and unique tips to master this art. I learned it quickly and started enjoying painting. My passion for painting began from this summer camp , and I will forever be indebted to it.

My Grandparents’ Place

After my summer camp ended, my whole family decided to visit my grandparent’s village . It is situated away from the city and is full of lush and greenery. I love spending time with my grandparents so I was very excited to visit their village.

We stayed there for over two weeks, and that throughout that time, I was at my best behavior. I used to get up at 7 o’clock in the morning to take a stroll with my grandfather. Then all the family members would get together to have breakfast full of healthy things and fresh fruits from the farm nearby.

In the evening, we would sit by our grandmother’s bed and listen to stories. Then, my siblings and I used to go to the terrace and play games. We would also gaze at their stars all night, as we did not get that in the city.

In short, this is how I spent my summer vacation. It was definitely one of the best times of my lives. I got to learn new things and spend valuable time with my grandparents. I feel blessed to have a loving family with whom I can enjoy my summer vacation.

We generally go to meet our grandparents or go on a trip with family and friends. This year, I went on a trip to the hill stations of Ooty along with my parents, grandparents and cousins. The most important thing about these vacations is the time spent with family during these vacations we make life-long memories.

We started the vacation by going to the native village of our grandparents, which is around 100 km away from the city in which we reside. My cousins and our extended family also joined us in our ancestral home. We then took a train to Ooty. 

The train ride was filled with laughter and songs, and I greatly enjoyed the ride. We got to see the beautiful landscapes of India on our way to the destination. We reached our Ooty in the evening. It is a small hill station with beautiful natural scenery and vegetation. 

I started the next day with an early morning walk with my grandparents and cousins. I then ate my breakfast after which the whole family traveled around the town. I learnt about the birds and trees of the hill stations. During nights I and my cousins would hear stories from my grandparents. I thoroughly enjoyed these stories. At the end of my trip, we went shopping to take some mementoes to my hometown. 

Despite the fact that my summer vacation was longer, the trip was by far the most memorable experience I had at that time. I am very grateful for the time I spent with my family. During the vacation, I not only learnt new things about the natural and cultural heritage of the place but also had a great time with my family. We are all also made to sit for around two-three hours each day to study. It is much better than studying alone. Though we look for excuses to skip these study sessions, they are actually not that bad. We get yummy refreshments during this time and also get to giggle and whisper in between that makes these sessions fun.

I love the way my aunts pamper me. The presence of my aunts in the house also means that we get a variety of delectable foods each day. They all have good culinary skills and we love the items cooked by them.

Vacations are full of fun and summer vacations are simply the best. They are the longest vacations and I look forward to them every year. It truly is a time to catch up on a lot of sleep and bond with our extended family members.

Students are the luckiest when it comes to vacations. This is because they get the maximum number of vacations during a year. They have a long winter break, an even longer summer-break, autumn break and a lot of other holidays grouped together during different parts of the year.

Many schools and colleges organize trips during the vacations. All those students who are interested in going for these trips can seek consent from their parents and pay the required amount to be a part of these. School and college trips are extremely fun. These are mostly planned during summer and autumn break. I have been on a number of these trips and I find them to be the best part of the vacations.

Many students join hobby classes during summer vacations. Summer camps are also run during these times. These camps offer numerous activities that are not only fun but also offer great learning experience.

Vacation is also the time for family get together and outings. It is fun to go out on holidays with our parents and siblings and build memories to cherish forever. Meeting cousins and staying over at their place is another exciting part of the vacations.

Studies are an integral part of a student’s life. School students often get a lot of homework during their vacations. Many a times, exams are scheduled just after the vacations. So it is also important to devote enough time for studies during the vacations.

Vacations for Working Professionals

Just like students, working professionals also wait for vacations. However, they are not blessed with as many holidays. Working people keep an eye on the long weekends. As the calendar for the New Year is out, everyone begins spotting the long weekends that fall during that year. Working professionals often go for outings with their family and friends during this time. Many also indulge in team outings with their colleagues.

There are a number of working professionals who relocate to different places to seek good opportunities. For such people, vacations mean going home to meet their family. They are immensely excited about the vacations and eagerly await the same. End of the vacation time and parting with their family is quite difficult for them.

Vacations for some working professionals are also a time to take rest to get back to work with fresh mind. Some professionals even take this opportunity to hone their professional skills by taking short term courses. These days there are several online courses that can be enrolled to instantly. For working mothers, vacations mean spending quality time with their children.

Vacations are important for everybody – be it a student, a working professional or a businessman. There is a lot of competition these days that has led to immense work pressure on people. Employees these days have long working hours and students need to go to the school, coaching classes and also require indulging in self study to score well. Businessmen require working day in and day out to set up their business and take it to newer heights. Amid all this mad rush to accomplish various tasks it is extremely essential to take a break every once in a while. That is why vacations are of immense importance for everyone. They give us the required break from our routine, rejuvenate us and prepare us to get back to our work with a fresh mind. Working without a break makes us dull and decreases our productivity. Vacations help in boosting focus and increasing productivity.

How to Make the Most of the Vacations?

Vacation time is limited and we must make the most of it. Many people plan a long holiday and then end up tired by the end of their vacation. They seem to need another vacation before they go to work. Others vile away their time sleeping or indulging in useless activities and regret having wasted their vacations. Yet others keep themselves occupied with work and studies only and thus don’t really take a break from their routine tasks. All these are not a good way to spend your vacations.

You must strike a balance between these activities. If supposing you have a week-long vacation, it is a good idea to plan a trip for the first three days then take rest for a day, then make a list of the household tasks you need to take care of and complete those. It is also suggested to squeeze in about an hour or two for your work or study for the remaining days after the trip. This is important so that you don’t lose a track of your work and get baffled as you resume it after the vacation.

When you balance between different things, you feel content as your vacation ends and can concentrate better on your studies/ work as you get back.

Disadvantages of Vacations

Here are the disadvantages attached to vacations:

Disrupts Routine

Life is much more sorted when we follow a routine every day. We go to our school/ college/ office at a set time each day and similarly follow a schedule for the other tasks as well. It is easier to manage things this way. Vacations disrupt the schedule and it is difficult to get back to routine after the same. This hampers work.

Disturbs Budget

We often plan trips and excursions during vacations and this can disturb our budget. Social media platforms have given rise to such trips. People get inspired to visit various places looking at the pictures posted by their friends and colleagues. Many people plan trips just to show off even if they do not have the budget.

Can be a Cause of Boredom

People who do not have company or budget to go out and enjoy often get bored during the vacations. They may even feel lonely and depressed during their vacations.

While vacations are a good time to relax and rejuvenate these can be troublesome for some particularly those who do not have good company to go out or enough budget to plan a holiday.

How I spent my vacation

I spent my last vacation happily. I got many experiences. My family went on a trip to Nuwara Eliya for five days. We checked into a hotel and rested awhile and went to see the Haggala Botanical Gardens. We saw many beautiful flowers. Then we went to see Gregory’s Lake. It was a very big and beautiful lake.

Next we visited Kandy. We worshipped the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and went to view the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens.

Then we went to Kataragama and worshipped Kiri Wehera and the Dewalaya. My father decided that we should have a bath at Kirinda Beach. We had a good time at the beach.

On the fifth day, we came home. I shared my experiences with my friends. It was a very enjoyable trip that I will never forget.
