Therefore, you must be aware of any fees that may be incurred by choosing telephone contact, in future to use their "chat" function on the website.

EasyJet offers you the possibility to contact them by e-mail, however their preferred contact channels are phone, chat and their online contact formular. Because of this, you might experience slow response times as the wait can be up to 28 days. You can write an email to EasyJet if you have recently traveled with EasyJet and you would like to complain . If you choose to send an e-mail, you must be aware that you can expect a long response time to your e-mail, as it can be up to 28 days.

Another option to contact EasyJet, is to use their contact formular that can be found on their website. This contact formular can be used for genereal questions and other topics. The formular ensures that you will provide EasyJet with the information needed in order for them to help with your question. You can use the contact formular if the subject is concerning feedback, insurance claim, delayed bags or other general inquiries .

Submit claim for compensation to EasyJet

Although an airline always goes to avoid interruptions in their flights, cancellations and delays will almost always be inevitable. If you have been exposed to a delayed or canceled flight with EasyJet, you can use our free form to check if you are entitled to receive compensation from EasyJet, as well as how much compensation you are entitled to.

You can choose to send the complaint directly to EasyJet and retain 100% of the compensation yourself. You also have the option of using a Claim Agency that can help you claim compensation, in which case you will typically retain 70-80% of your compensation yourself.

Note that even though you are entitled compensation due to a flight delay or cancellation, some airlines will do what they can to avoid having to pay compensation to a passenger as this is a very large expense for the airlines. For example, it may be that the airline denies compensation because they believe the delay or cancellation is out of their hands. If you have personally complained about the airline complaint and your claim for compensation has been denied by the airline, then it may be worth trying to use a Claim Agency as they are often experienced in handling these types of complaints and may represent more of the passengers on the same flight.

Rules for compensation for flight delay or canceled flight

If you have been subject to a canceled flight or flight delay, you may be entitled to cash compensation.  On the following page , you can read the flight compensation rules and see if you are eligible for compensation for your flight delay or canceled flights. The amount of your cash compensation will also depend on various factors such as how long a flight has been delayed on arrival  to its destination, as well as the distance between the departure destination and the final destination.

The amount of cash compensation can be as high as € 600, so  there is good reason to investigate your flight delay or flight cancellation. Please note that you are entitled to compensation for up to 3 years after the delay/cancellation took place,  so if you have previously experienced flight delays or cancellations, there is good reason to check if these fall within the conditions so that you can also  claim compensation for past flight delays or cancellations.

EasyJet launches aptitude test as female pilots targeted in new campaign

The online test assesses some of the key skills required to become an airline pilot such as a sense of direction and reaction to speed.

easy jet uk contact

A new aptitude test has been launched to encourage more people to consider training to be an airline pilot.

Airline easyJet said its move followed research suggesting one in two Britons do not know what qualifications are needed to become an airline pilot and learn to fly a commercial jet.

The campaign was launched with a “talking” billboard, featuring a real-life easyJet pilot strapped to a billboard in central London on Wednesday.

EasyJet helps aspiring pilots with little to no flying experience to operate a commercial passenger jet in around two years with its training course.

The airline said it wanted to debunk misconceptions about the job after its research found 57% of people believe a university degree is required to become a pilot, and 80% think 20/20 vision is a necessity, when neither are needed to apply.

The new test is targeting women in a bid to encourage more to consider becoming a pilot.

A recent survey by easyJet found half of young girls said they believe a pilot is a job for a man.

Captain Sarah Ackerley, of easyJet, said: “Tackling gender stereotyping within aviation has been a long-standing mission for easyJet and I’m excited to be part of this latest campaign that’s allowing people to get a real insight into what skills are really important to do this job, and encourage more women into the profession.

“It’s an immensely rewarding career that I’m proud to champion and I hope by more people taking our new interactive test they can challenge themselves to discover a talent they never knew they had, and I hope to see them flying with us in the future.”

Around 7.5% of easyJet’s pilots in the UK are women, compared to the UK industry average of 6.5%, with around 300 women including 99 captains now flying for the airline.

In the most recent reshuffle between the FTSE 100 and the FTSE 250 , easyJet ( LSE:EZJ ) was promoted to the big league. The growth in the market cap has been evident, with easyJet shares up 37% over the past six months and 20% over the past year. With strong financial results out recently showing good momentum, should I jump in and buy the stock?

Strong latest results

The full financial year for easyJet runs through to the end of September. For 2023, it delivered a headline profit before tax of £455m. This was a huge improvement of the loss the previous year of £178m and shows the continued drive to get back to where it was before the pandemic.

The guidance for 2024 is also impressive. It expects to fly 42m seats in H1 and 59m seats in H2. If this is accurate, it would be roughly 10% growth versus 2023. Naturally, if the business is flying more passengers then I’d expect revenue to also be higher.

Further, it’s not just traditional flights that are making the business money. The package holiday division is growing. In fact, the business is expecting that area to grow by at least 35% for this coming year.

This is great because it helps to diversify revenue away from just air traffic. This helps to make the business a more appealing prospect for potential investors that want to invest in a broader travel business, not just an airline.

A fair value?

Even with the strong growth in the share price, the price-to-earnings ratio only sits at 12.57. It’s true that this is above my fair value watermark of 10. Yet this takes into account the latest earnings per share figure. So if earnings for the coming year are higher but the share price remains at the same level, the ratio will fall.

Based on that factor, I don’t think the stock is overvalued. Rather, I think it’s fairly priced and should appreciate in the future if earnings rise too.

Let’s not forget that the share price could rally from its inclusion in the FTSE 100. All the tracker funds for the FTSE 100 will now have to buy the stock to include it. Even though FTSE 250 tracker funds will sell the stock, there’s a lot more money tracking the FTSE 100. This means that overall there should be more buying than selling due to the promotion.

Risk and reward

I do acknowledge that the airline and broader travel sector isn’t for the faint-hearted. It’s very sensitive to customer demand, with good years being great but bad years being terrible. It’s also exposed to geopolitical situations around the world. For example, the Middle East conflict has hurt revenues for easyJet in the past few months.

Even with these risks, I think the stock looks very attractive. I’m seriously considering buying this growth stock now.

BA, easyJet and Wizz Air resume flights to and from Israel

Virgin Atlantic to restart services in September, almost a year after airlines suspended flights owing to Gaza war

Major European airlines have started to resume flights to and from Israel. Wizz Air, easyJet and British Airways are now all flying to Tel Aviv, and Virgin Atlantic is planning a resumption this year.

Wizz Air said on Wednesday it had restarted flights to Israel from six airports in March, and planned to resume operations on further routes during the next three months. This will include the resumption of flights from Gatwick to Tel Aviv, as well as 16 other paused routes.

Most big airlines suspended services to Israel and some surrounding areas after the start of the war in Gaza in October. They are only now returning.

BA resumed flights to Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion airport on Monday, but with a reduced service of one daily plane four days a week. EasyJet restarted its services to Israel on 25 March, returning to its prewar schedule from London Luton, Amsterdam, Berlin, Basel, Geneva and Milan.

In January, easyJet revealed that the Middle East crisis had cost it more than £40m in lost trading as flights were suspended and demand weakened.

Ryanair has also been significantly affected by the war, and revealed on Wednesday that it had been forced to cancel 950 flights since October. The airline resumed flights to Ben Gurion at the start of February but suspended them again at the end of the month after a dispute over which terminal it could use.

Ryanair complained that the airport had closed its low-cost terminal 1, which meant the airline was being forced to use terminal 3, where the fees are higher.

Virgin Atlantic has said it plans to resume flights to Israel in September after initially earmarking March for a restart. The airline said: “After careful consideration, we have taken the difficult decision to extend our pause on flying to and from Tel Aviv up to and including 4 September 2024.

“We sincerely apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused and our teams will be in contact with anyone affected to discuss their options, which include rebooking to a later date or a full refund.”

Virgin Atlantic posted annual accounts on Wednesday that showed a loss of £139m for the year to 31 December, an improvement on the £206m loss it made in 2022. It said continued cost discipline and cash protection meant that it expected to return to profitability next year.

Oliver Byers, Virgin Atlantic’s chief financial officer, said the continued losses were largely due to interest charges incurred on loans taken on during the pandemic, as well as £100m of debt repaid to lenders in 2023.
