  1. Yes Man movie review & film summary (2008)

Directed by. Jim Carrey made a movie in 1997 titled "Liar Liar" in which his character is a lawyer who suddenly finds he cannot tell a lie. Now here is "Yes Man," with Carrey playing a bank loan executive who cannot say "no." If the movie had been made just a little later to take advantage of the mortgage crisis, it could have been a docudrama.

  3. Yes Man Movie Review

Yes Man isn't exactly original, but it's fun. After an extended hiatus from comedy -- his last live-action movie was the 2007 thriller The Number 23, and before that, 2005's Fun with Dick and Jane-- in YES MAN Carrey has found a vehicle that again makes the most of his elastic face and spastic humor. In many ways, it's reminiscent of Liar Liar-- only here he doesn't have to tell the truth, just ...

  10. You review: Yes Man

In Yes Man, all Carl's friends seemed to be in their late 20s or early 30s, while the actor himself is now 47. Carrey's trademark physically-challenging comic set pieces are also presumably going ...

  11. Yes Man

Carl Allen's life is going nowhere--the operative word being "no"--until he signs up for a self-help program based on one simple covenant: say "yes" to everything...and anything. Unleashing the power of "YES" begins to transform Carl's life in amazing and unexpected ways, getting him promoted at work and opening the door to a new romance. But his willingness to embrace every opportunity might ...

  12. Yes Man

Yes Man (United States, 2008) A movie review by James Berardinelli. At first glance, Yes Man appears to be yet another high-concept Jim Carrey comedy. After all, the premise can be summed up in a sentence: "A character played by Carrey in 'zany form' must say 'yes' to every proposal." Over the years, we have gotten used to these kinds of movies ...

  13. Yes Man

    60. Variety Brian Lowry. Genial but slim, picture is certainly a light-hearted alternative to weighty year-end awards bait, but the conceit isn't realized fully enough. 50.

  17. Movie Review: Yes Man (2008)

So even though I applaud Jim Carrey for getting back to what made him a household name, he should have resoundly said "no" to Yes Man. And since the movie is basically a retread and doesn't have any real laugh out loud scenes, sadly, you should say "no" too. Critical Movie Critic Rating: 2. Movie Review: Paul Blart: Mall Cop (2009)

  18. Yes Man

TOP CRITIC. As a statement on thug life, it's downbeat without much self-pitying fatalism, and Saunders-Browne's astute, sullen performance is all too convincing. Full Review | Original Score ...

  21. YES MAN

The movie is fast paced and never drags, because its perfectly timed comedy beats occur frequently. The story of YES MAN has a great setup. The scenes are fun to watch, but the core of the story is mostly fluff. Renee leaving Carl because she can't trust him is understandable but doesn't seem irreconcilable.

  22. Movie review: Yes Man

It isn't, sadly. Yes Man attempts to update the 46-year-old comic genius for a ruder, cruder Judd Apatow-Frat Pack comedy universe. The film surrounds him with less funny "pals" (Bradley ...

  23. "Yes Man" Movie Review

Film Review. It's true that humans need Godly discernment in life to get through our daily lives. However, in Jim Carrey's latest comedy, saying "yes" to anything and everything proves to be an overall positive experience despite some rather serious consequences at times. Yes Man is inspired by the true story of Danny Wallace, a man who decided ...
